General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

I have watched a bunch of Tenma’s Lobotomy Corp streams and I still have zero idea what is supposed to be going on with that game, it’s just lots of clicking and then a monster shows up? I think I lack the necessary amount of ‘tism for it
You have to keep a bunch of anamolies in check (its like scp but weird korean demons and aliens) your staff has to regularly check in on them and each interaction has %chance for numerous different effects. Sometimes theyll walk out refreshed other times suicidal, maybe they got some kind of probe or infection. Occasionally they break containment and you need to beat em up. Staff have stats and you equip them with gear for examinig, talking and fighting with these creatures.

Its also not all best stat power scaling applications. Many interactions have negative effects if they result positive and some you want to land somewhere in the middle for best results.

please free her from her electroswing spiritual lyrical miracle japslop pop rap please
not been listening to her for over 2 years I'm guessing? because that was the last time she put out any sort of rap focused album.

She's been in a rock-rap direction since then.
I sort of feel like things are probably going to swing in the other direction because the only thing we know about the future of cover is that they want to be like Disney which almost never works out well for anybody including Disney themselves.
That 2023 cover video pitching the company to potential new hires has done serious damage to your mental state with the Kpop talk the other day and now the Disney dooming today.

These comparisons only ever existed to illustrate specific concepts to people unfamiliar with what vtubing and hololive are. The Disney stuff in terms of showing people what is meant by Character IP and licensing potential. And Kpop to give a popular example of communities where the fans and the talents sort of work together to elevate the medium. (specifically how with both Vtubers in Japan, and Kpop groups, fans circulating translated clips and content helps to build overseas viewership)

You seem to regularly take these sorts of comparisons to mean much more than they were ever stated to be, thinking that because they were used as easy frames of reference for very specific things, that it means Cover is going to adopt the practices of those things more broadly which has never been stated to be the case.
That, and I feel like we're at a point where the bubble that has been built seems like it's about to bust but despite this big companies want to claw their way to the mainstream without even a realizing what that even takes or means in the grand scheme of things.
I've been in this thread long enough (probably to some degree of my own shame) to remember that people have been projecting that the end is nigh since Covid ended. And still every year Cover grows and continues to outdo itself every single year.

And at least within Japan which is still their primary market, Cover has been "mainstream" for a while now.

Quinn formerly Kyo Kaneko at Niji did a 25 minute stream about the tweets he made regarding Aster Arcadia
TLDW -He hasn't seen Aster doing anything criminal but has seen him be weird to women and act like an incel
-He stopped doing a podcast with him to protect himself because he was worried Aster might be doing something weird in private
-He hints at insider knowledge that he won't talk about as that would be outing a victim
-He doesn't know if what was in False's video is real but "based on what I have seen this doesn't seem to be completely out of character of behavior for this person to potentially do like I could see a universe where this happens...it's not like I would never ever see this happening that's not how I feel, this seems possible."

The only thing I know about Aster is that when Finana did that "Nijifeet" stream he was the only other person in the company who was willing to participate.

Oh, and he just happened to have handcuffs lying around for some reason.

EDIT: I have to admit that I haven't really cared for any of dooby's streams so far. The train set she uses is charming, though.

if you think the dogs are a standout hit let's look at the financial support they saw upon monetization and compare it to Cecilia

Cecilia had incentives in her monetization stream (making the superchats into a scrapbook) that proved particularly successful.

If you compare the overall playboard superchat stats, Fuwamoco has received $703,882 in the 495 days since their debut (~$1,422/day) while Cecilia has received $90,597 in the 167 days since her debut (~$542/day). Compared with the rest of Advent, who are around the ~$250,000 range (~$500/day) and Justice, who have lower totals than Cecilia, Fuwamoco are significantly higher.

Calli got jebaited by Ghost Cat
Damn, all the wires? It's fairly common for cats to chew on wires as an outlet for boredom, and some cats are more prone to wire chewing than others. Really the only way to solve it is to find toys they really like, and to actively spend time playing with them. That's been my experience anyway, because all the manufactured electronic/consumer cat toys I tested out were just not up to the job of holding a young cat's attention - at least not my two cats. Once they had better entertainment, they quit caring about wires.

I ended up having to use my imagination and make my own cat toys from leftover bits of stuff lying around. If hers are like mine, stuff like this is going to keep happening until those cats can use their energy on something better. Safe to assume she's not being some horrifically neglectful pet owner, and might just not be able to spend 1-2 hours a day figuring out how to give active cats something more fun to do than chew on wires. I don't keep up with Karen at all but there is a chance that she's just dealing with demon bastard cats - fuck whatever the pet gurus like Jackson Galaxy say, some animals are just unrepentant troublesome bastards.

I don't know shit about cats as I've always just been a dog person, but I believe one of her 2 cats is a particularly active breed (Somali) and from her general chat on the topic she usually spends an hour or two playing with them in the evenings. What might have happened is that she's been out of her usual schedule this week because of VCR rust which she's usually streaming in the Japanese evenings so play time with the cats might be getting lost in the shuffle.

Also a big part of why this happened must be that she just forgot to close up her office after finishing stream late last night as she generally doesn't let the cats even go into her streaming room. So if they got in there to tear up the internet cable at all it must mean she left the door cracked open or something after her stream yesterday.

I guess Fauna is going back to her old persona prior to Hololive, so I guess thats consolation, I really hope the rest of Promise sticks around, but who knows what the fucks going on there

I'm just imagining this as a roaming gang of stray cats breaking into someone's audio office and eating everything in sight.
Not what happened I'm sure. But it is a bizarre situation no matter what. And incredibly expensive.

I have watched vtubers play path of exile 2 for the past 8 hours or so. From Lumi to Jelly.
And it has been incredible to see. Everyone who has touched it really likes it so far. I expect it to spread.

I live in the middle of assfuck nowhere, and the closest FamilyMart to me is selling hololive merch. It's a bigger FamilyMart than the ones in Tokyo for sure, but holo are the only VTubers on offer. There's also some miscellaneous anime stuff like Yuru Camp figures.

Hololive is a big deal in Japan.
Really the only way to solve it is to find toys they really like, and to actively spend time playing with them.
You can also tell them off. My cat had a thing for wires when he was a kitten and he learnt what "oi" meant. Now he just keeps licking plastic bags, which might be dangerous (sources disagree), but there's no stopping him. If he's happy, he's indefatigable.

Nijisanji dog Vtuber Kuroi Shiba will be making it's 3D debut X. I assume the guy walks normally and the model moves on all fours rather than making the guy move like a dog in mocap.

Can't wait for the drama about Niji making him sleep in a doghouse, giving him food in a bowl, and not letting him inside during winter.

Yeah was gonna say, ever since Sinderella (2022) her music has had tons of variety.
Before it too honestly. Unalive was a pretty varied album (her last release before signing to her label)

Her early UMJ releases definitely lacked some of that variety and at least from what she's vaguely spoken about that was to some extent the labels direction with them wanting to box her into a more typical J-rap lane with things like Shinigami Note and Sinderella, but as time has gone on she's earned some trust from the label for them to let her have more say in matters and in her direction. Not that those more UMJ directed releases didn't have some good tracks, just with some songs like Holy嫉妬 off SN or (ironically because it's the song the other user mentioned) I'm Greedy off Sinderella it's fairly evident that there were some label suits pushing for a specific direction out of her. For Shinigami note especially she's talked about how the label, when seeking trackmakers was specifically telling producers that they wanted to replicate excuse my rudeness but could you please RIP for basically every track on the EP.
