3.) Kids log onto Nick & April's social media, see that "actually, it was because we loved each other and did nothing wrong." Breathe sigh of relief. Cognitive dissonance melting! Sense of shame alleviated! Pride in dad and mom's hot sex lives restored!

To April (and Nick), 'telling the truth' is another way of saying 'gaslighting the kids because they're seeing clear and obvious decadent behavior by their parents and April and are asking pertinent questions.'

For example, April might be walking around the house topless and strung out on coke in full view of the kids, then later she and Nick would have a sit-down with them and rationalize what they saw (or at worst, tell them don't believe their lying eyes).

UT Texas Austin. Is this a GOOD school?

UT Austin is a good enough school that Nick would probably never have been admitted into the english program there as a transfer student. Just to give some perspective, the school Nick went into in Minnesota has an acceptance rate well over 90% and its difficult NOT to be accepted there.

The acceptance rate for an out of state student into UT Austin in second or third year would be less than 10%. Nick, with a year of community college followed by one or two years at Southwest Minnesota State would not be considered an exceptional transfer student.

Nick also mentions Texas State University - San Marcos and (oddly) mentions that he was thinking about going to grad school there after UT-Austin. San Macros as an undergrad transfer school and possibly grad school for Nick is a somewhat realistic option if he had wanted to move to Texas. San Marcos is not a highly selective school nor is it a good school.
