Day stream on Thursday for it but I'm guessing if he doesn't hit the goal it's done. Every game he is currently playing is 1 failed goal away from wage quit.

Again I'll say 99 percent of the time I don't think he is faking tips, but there being a few fuck it I'll own the trolls streams seems plausible. He is desperate for perceived W's and this guy lies about literally everything, often for no reason whatsoever. It's not hard to believe a couple of times he decided to fake a tip on the spot impulsively. Also I get that it no longer being a streak means there is no incentive for him to fake it anymore, but I actually think he might still want to do it simply to advance the dent battlepass closer to fast food eating days. I think he wants every one of those to happen ASAP so that he can waste time not playing games and pretending to be a world class food critic as he eats gimmick fast food.

This is also all meaningless speculation as already pointed out cause whether he is getting the money or not it goes to scopely.

Faking tips now is much more likely because Phil made donations the key to his "resurgence" and proving people now like him. His ego is too fragile to fail repeatedly. The logic being:

1) There's a documentary where Phil lies hundreds of times and admits he lied. He's been caught lying about things he literally had no reason to lie about. He's caught daily in new lies, all with video evidence. It's like he's addicted to it.
2) He said he lied about support at times, though I actually took that to mean he had more support than he let on, not less. But he still lies about it.
3) He tied his ego to the king's streak, talked about it endlessly, and when he makes the goal he says he "felts the trolls" (and yes he was still saying "felts" after KC turned on him, though very recently he's stopped) and how we're (yes you) all seething. It's literally a victory dance if he makes the goal.
4) When 3 started, suddenly there are anonymous last-minute tips to hit the goal.

So there was no point to lie about tips before, but for the past few months there has been, all due to his incorrect belief that somehow we care if some mouthdrooler tips him so can piss it away before morning.

Yeah, that last second tip felt incredibly fake. No reaction, no info, nothing, just "uh... guys, I got a 100 dollar tip" and immediately ended the stream after stalling and leaving the slideshow. I'm usually not on the side of thinking Phil fakes tips regularly but any doubter should check this one, especially because he was legit pissed at the one who promised 80 to hit the goal.

Even if he wasn't lazy (and that's a big if), him living in a private community with an HOA totally fucked him over for that sort of work. He would have to ask the HOA for being allowed to work on that wall. Add to that him being in a middle unit home which makes not telling anyone you're doing some work impossible.

Living in a private community was a retarded move.

Concerning Phil faking or not faking tips, a data point I haven't seen mentioned is that Phil, the world's most autistic and financially paranoid man, somehow forgot to reset the tips tracker between the day and night. He also forgot to add the "$100 Anon" to the leader board but did remember to add the $100 to the tracker. Tevin's theory (and I'm inclined to agree) was that this was deliberate to show off that he had, in fact, hit the goal from the previous stream.

The marked lack of creativity in the names/tip messages is a potential hint of fake tips. Phil's fans have naming themes and occasional odd messages, but it would be a very Phil thing to do to struggle to think of something outside of "Meaty Boner" and "Fuck it" and especially "Anon with no message".

I think the lack of emotion isn't a tell one way or the other. One of the reasons why people speculated on OneMinuteMan being fake was how little he seemed to care, because Phil tends to take "support" for granted. He came off to me as somewhat exhausted, so it could have just been a "I can't believe I had to do overtime and push these retards this hard" reaction.

Finally, knowing whether or not he's faking tips isn't important for financial reasons, it's important for knowing his psychological state. It means his pride is currently beating out his greed in the weird tug-of-war inside his head.

I have the impression that PoE is the kind of game that most people would not fault you for using a guide (for building your character) on your first playthrough, even if people would clown on DSP for using one regardless. However, there is no way this dude cares enough about the game to look up a guide beforehand so he will need handholding. This is just another attempt to appease the dents now that streak is over, all in the back of another good game that he will make look like the worst shit ever through his mindless bitching.

Word on the street is that the act 1 of the game is punishing new players like crazy for various reasons. Some of the buggy stuff is being patched soon but not until after he plays it for the first time.

I also don't think Phil saying in the past that he could fake tips is much of a smoking gun.

This is very true as someone who has played and spent a inexcusable amount on POE i fully agree.
A loot-filter, campaign and build guide are absolutely a must have for a brand new new player.

Thing is with it being EA the people who make those build guides are doing them right now.
The attached SS is from Maxroll @10.50 GMT. And those builds were only uploaded this morning.

So if Dave picks one of those then you know he's been searching for guides.

I believe, the thing that Phil will struggle with more than anything is the Defensive layering. Trying to explain that through chat will be almost impossible.

Since he got banned off streamlabs there is no way to tell if any of his tips are real. We are taking a liars word for it.
