I've just realised the tattoo goes through a raised scar. You would think the tattooist would have suggested another area on her body to avoid this.

She has a big y shaped scar on her arm, possibly from self harm. The shorter line runs across the raised one. I know people have tattoos over scars but she had the rest of her body to choose from.

I wonder if she found the tattoo painful, what her parents will think, or if she plans anymore. Also I wonder what Jeff thinks - she got this tattoo as a dedication to a man she's pretty much only just met, but she's been with Jeff for years. Sigh.

The more I look at the flowers the more I dislike them - they look like colouring-in book illustrations. Like @Meowzers said, the sigil resembles Marvel Loki horns, too. It's so crudely thought out. I wonder what she will think to it when she eventually loses interest in Loki.

The tattoo looks less bad than I'd anticipated, as I was thinking some vaguely furry inspired aesthetic. You know, that cheap faux manga style, some janky colours, bad figurative characters, etc. So genuinely expected a lot worse-

Sorry, kiwis, but this is exactly what a brand new tattoo looks like. They look impossibly perfect and crisp right after. You don't see a lot of redness unless it's a big piece with solid areas of tattooing. She will hardly even have any scabbing or peeling because there aren't any big areas of solid ink.

There are different (boring, autistic) reasons for keeping the protective film on for different lengths of time. Sometimes only an hour or so is necessary as with a simple tattoo like this. They might not have given her any at all. She doesn't have any heavy shading or solid areas of pigment.

In about a week, it'll look more like a real tattoo. After that, Stephanie can probably enjoy those crisp lines for about a year or two. At that point they'll either be a little bit softer, or blown out. Unless the tattooist had too light of a hand in which case the ink will get patchy.

Once a tattoo is finished the artist will basically always let you see it properly and/or have the opportunity to take a quick photo before they put the film on it. It looks like a fresh tattoo to me, lack of visible inflammation or bleeding doesn't mean it isn't. Sometimes that doesn't show up right away, or at all. Not to mention, the tattoo guns most artists are using these days are way smaller, quieter, and finer than they used to be, and ink quality has come a long way as well. As a result, if done with good technique and cared for properly, tattoos usually heal much smoother and age far better than they did even just 10-15 years ago.

A bit unexpected for Staph not to dox the parlor, but she's probably paranoid tagging them would get them brigaded by trolls. She doesn't really "get" KF or realize that kind of retardation doesn't generally come from here. We're basically her only audience I'm pretty sure, but in all fairness I'm not sure if she's got any dedicated hatewatchers in her tumblr or twitter-adjacent communities or what the culture is like, so maybe there are retards who would do that for all I know.

Anyway, it's lame, but people regularly get way dumber and shittier tattoos than this so whatever. Now comes the part where we find out if Staph has been telling the truth about having a compulsive skin picking problem, I guess.

So it could possibly be one of those. I had a look at each one and most don't have websites, some only have Facebook or Instagram accounts. Staph's tattoo hasn't appeared on any, but its not the sort of thing an artist would want in their portfolio.
