The Elder Scrolls

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
At this point just use SimonRim's mods in the gameplay part.
All those mods are modular as fuck. Even in Survival.
Adamant, Pilgrim, Blade & Blunt and Mysticism are by far my favorites.

Replace Apocalypse with Odin. It's the same spells but the scripting is better and won't throw up a weird error in LOOT that even today no one knows if you should clean it or not.
Thanks. I'll check that out next time I feel like going through the pain and agony of setting up a Skyrim modlist again.

Ordinator+Apocalypse+Phenderix+Mysticism.

Seriously, Ordinator is mandatory since it fixes the scaling issue by having your skill level for magic boost effects instead of the spells being static in end result. My last go I used a few race+class overhauls to roll with a Dunmner Sorcerer with heavy armor. Flame on, bitches!
I'm enjoying Apocalypse, the pale shadow conjuration spell is a mainstay for me right now (summons a hostile 1 HP clone of the target for 10 seconds). Drop zone is such a neat and obvious idea it should have been in the main game (cast spell at ground below, you don't take fall damage when hitting that patch of ground).

How do skill points work in ordinator? That's the one that gives you way more perks in the skill trees to unlock isn't it?

I did a comparison between MGEXE+MWSE+Mod Organizer 2+MCP+Mash and OpenMW with a highly modded set up (100+ mods).
The MGEXE build had way, way less stability than the OpenMW build. Almost always crashed after 20-30 minutes without any error message.
The OpenMW build never crashed with a similar setup. Even removing all the MWSE mods from MGEXE build made no difference.
MWSE, although having some exclusive mods, is not worth the trade off. Lua support is getting better in OpenMW too.

It's interesting to me because there's a loud minority that absolutely despises OpenMW. OpenMW just has so many built in features ( distant land, mod manager, cross platform, online, bug fixes) etc that the stability and convenience blows the former out of the water for me.

Yeah it works so well compared to regular Morrowind that I can never bring myself to go back. I think the only reason some people don’t like it is because you can’t use MWSE with it. Though like you said, the Lua integration is improving and I don’t think it’ll be a problem forever.

The fact that magic works like this is ample evidence that whoever was leading Skyrim magic design was a dent who couldn't figure out Morrowind magic.
Supposedly they did it because Oblivion's magic system was retardedly broken.
Also, Morrowind's system is balanced (somewhat) by spell failure rates.

EDIT: Oh, regarding my analysis of that interview:

You can't attack in midair in Skyrim. Oopsie.

This is the truth for everyone: simonrim, enairim, and even vanilla are all interesting changes of paces and every skyrim player should try each when they get bored.

Should we just boycott elder scrolls 6? Seriously, just wait until certain youtubers like fudgemuppet, synthetic man, zarich Zacharon and spell and shield make their reviews. If the game is good, or atleast not woke we buy the game, if the the game is bad, we can all just boycott elder scrolls 6.
You need to do this for all games. No preorders, no day 1 purchases. Duh?

I think Todd Howard is the only one who's part of the original team who still works at Bethesda Softworks everyone else has left for greener pastures
Does Brian Chapin still work there? I know Kurt Kuhlmann left, did Steve Meister leave as well? Ashley Cheng still works there, in fact he's the lead Studio Director...not doing a great job it seems. Pete Hines sadly still exists. Emil Pagliarulo too sadly. I know these aren't the original team but it's interesting seeing a lot of the older members either leaving or still persisting. Weaver, Julian Lefay, Vijay, Peterson, gone. Though a few of them went off to found OnceLost Games so that's interesting.

I never truly realized how useful alchemy is in Skyrim until today, you can just keep producing Potions, sell the excess shit you make and max out your gold, im kinda just ignoring the Main Quest in my current run but I feel as if ill be well-equipped to buy whatever I need if I decide to start it

Just have a council of trusted people like synthetic man who review the game, and give the go ahead on whether or not we should buy it.
That's not necessary and the idea of a trusted circle of e-daddies sounds gay. All you have to do is not buy a game at launch and wait. Even a game's ballwashers can't cover for a game appearing unfun and/or pozzed.

Lack of leadership won't help anyone, and it's better to be specific rather than a vague mass. If we organize we can achieve, it's common sense.

There's two types of skyrim players: ones that have just discovered the crafting skills, and the ones who've discovered the fun of doing playthroughs without crafting.

Seriously, why can't we just be principled In our purchases? Game studios like Bethesda have no right to act like this.
I don't see why it would need a boycott, Normalfags have been buying Bethesda games enmasse since Skyrim anyway so its not going to do anything people have been waiting for a sixth installment for years at this point, I can understand why someone wouldn't enjoy Bethesda games, but I do personally, if the game comes out and its upsetting to you, either not liking the gameplay, its too woke, whatever the only thing you can really do is vote with your wallet, i know is practically a meme statement at this point but we have no legal option that will give us instanteous change in the game industry

this is true, I think a common criticism of Bethesda games, which I find understandable is that its relatively easy to bust the economy, once you understand the fundementals of making shit you practically have the same power you would have by just cheating via Console Commands.

this, never pre-order, if it the general consensus is it le sucks then sure don't buy it, but if a majority finds it enjoyable then sure, personally as a person who doesn't make a lot of money I just get Game Pass codes of CDKeys since they are cheaper and you can stack them, theres almost never a reason to buy at full price either digitally or physically anymore, thats just the cold hard truth about Vidya now
