I'll agree that Japan is bending the knee to DEI (of course too late). But this is actually the kind of shit I'm talking about. Where these people equate goonabilty to quality. Outside of a handful of a few exceptions the vast majority of games coming out of China and South Korea are complete trash. No, JPEG collector gambling apps aren't the pinnacle of gaming because they have hot women in them. They're not dominating anything.

As someone who has a vested interest in eastern games, I'm inclined to agree. Mind you, I do play some gachaslop, but many of these games are poorly designed and carried hard by their characters and horny bait so I am under no delusion that many of these are good.

I'm not advocating for censorship or getting rid of scantily clad characters, but people like this really do these games (and imo, the rest of the industry) a disservice by only propping them up simply because of "make my pp hard".

The focus should always be how fun and well designed a game is, but we're surrounded by groups of people who are:
1. Casual gamers who don't need to or want to consider the quality of a game so long as it fits their immediate needs

2. People who do (and don't) play video games having a heart attack anytime some a thigh is shown or a game isn't designed to cater to their warped worldview. No, some skin will not kill you. Close your eyes. Turn off the screen. Play a different game. Christ.

3. People who are only invested in how the East is fighting against SJW/woke bullshit. And to some extent, there is merit in this as we see how DEI and whatnot had infested more than just games. But I'm also not interested in hearing the same talking points about how Korea or China is BASED just because there's some new 2D/3D waifu character that drops when your game plays like fucking dogshit.

I already knew enough to ignore this one due to "her" masculine jawline, but I'm not surprised by this. There is one thing I hate about the headline. This game is not Perfect Dark, it's just a random game with the Perfect Dark name stapled on to it. So, this headline shouldn't mislead people into thinking he worked on the other Perfect Dark games.

I agree with Japan to certain extent when it comes to localization they bend the knee to the West but when it comes to overall game quality Japan absolutely takes a dump on China and Korea as of now since majority of China and Korea coming out are pretty mid fill with Microtransactions up the ass. I wish we got more BlackMythWukong, Lies of P and Stella Blade which are excellent but they're outliers from China and Korea.

This is a good illustration of the real root problem.

Most people neglect the fact that supporting Korea/China (and a lot of Japan now that I think about it) empowers heavily involved ESG companies and the chinese government as a whole.
When presented with this fact, the average gooner GIF poster will happily tell you they don't care. They can't comprehend that a game with booty shaking will hurt them on the long run.

Two gamemodes and a handful of maps is barebones even for a live service launch. Halo Infinite (and that game does have its own problems) is F2P, launched with way more content than this, and was still called sparse at launch. I see people do this stuff constantly.

Halo infinite had more content but it was pretty fucking awful to play for a year. Vehicle spawns also ruined whatever appeal the big maps couldve had as they frustrated. Marvel rivals is a fun romp with friends because at least it functions
