PRINCETON, N.J. (AP) — Dozens of drones have been spotted across New Jersey in recent weeks, including near sensitive sites such as a military research facility, which can be frustrating but don’t appear to pose a public safety concern, Gov. Phil Murphy stressed Monday.

The FBI has been investigating reports about several mysterious nighttime drone flights that started occurring last month across central New Jersey and has asked the public for help. Since then, residents have reported seeing drones in other areas.

While speaking at an unrelated bill signing event in Princeton, Murphy noted there were 49 reports of drones on Sunday, mostly in Hunterdon County. The Democratic governor said those numbers included possible sightings and potentially the same drone being reported more than once.

“This is something we’re taking deadly seriously. I don’t blame people for being frustrated,” Murphy said.

It’s unclear who is piloting the drones and why, but federal and state officials have repeatedly stressed that there is no known threat to public safety.

Drones are legal in New Jersey for recreational and commercial use, but they are subject to local and Federal Aviation Administration regulations and flight restrictions. Drone operators also must be FAA certified. Most, but not all, of the drones spotted in New Jersey were larger than those typically used by hobbyists.

The flights initially raised questions in part because they took place near the Picatinny Arsenal, a U.S. military research and manufacturing facility, and over President-elect Donald Trump’s golf course in Bedminster.

Most of the drones have been spotted along coastal areas, and some of the devices were recently spotted over a large reservoir in Clinton.

The FBI asks that residents share any videos or photos they may have of the flights, along with any other relevant information.

U.S. Rep Chris Smith, a Republican, said he was on Long Beach Island Monday night with Ocean County Sheriff Mike Mastronardy to look into the situation.

“Understandably, New Jersey residents are very alarmed at this significant and reoccurring phenomenon, and the tepid response from our state and federal agencies so far is totally unacceptable,” he said. “The people of New Jersey deserve swift and bold action on the part of our state and federal agencies to investigate, assess, and address the situation immediately and to alleviate the growing concerns of our community.”

There's a secret Iranian mothership launching the drones:
I'm sorry but I just don't buy it. I saw the videos posted they all look like wal mart drones that I see kids play around with in my parent's neighborhood. Ive seen no pictorial ebidance of car sized drones and I will not believe this shit until you can show me some decent proof that isn't a nighttime grainy 122p video footage.

I wanted to refrain from sharing personal-ish info, but whatever. Back in november, me and my mom saw one of these drones in a surrounding neighborhood. We both thought it was a helecopter, but I looked closer, and it looked to be a big drone. We were in a car, but I was close enough to see it hovering, and get a rough idea on the size.

I'm only mentioning this because there's a lot of doubts here to the recounts and videos, but I do promise you, it was bigger than a walmart quadcopter "drone". SUV sized? I doubt it, but let me reiterate: I thought it was a helecopter initially.

You can take my word on it or not, but it was the reason I posted this article to begin with.

Dude just throw rocks or shoot the things down it's these drones not the kind actually used to bomb people [image]... it fucking bugs me how every other post feels like a fed trying to get people afraid of dinky fucking quadcopters with lights and cameras on them.
As stated before, civilians couldn't unless they want to be federally indicted (NJ is not 2A friendly, either). Quadcopter drones are covered under the FAA's protection, and most of the drones were in neighborhoods. Also, the quadcopter you pictured is the type used in ukraine. They attach bombs to them, and fly them at soldiers in trenches

You have to understand, it doesn't matter if they're dinky quadcopters or car sized quadcopters. Feds or iranians, it's still fucking creepy, and someone is clearly doing something.

I don’t get it. If they are in an unauthorized flight zone why don’t they just shoot them down?

Also I need to point out that humans are really bad at guessing how large an object in the sky is. Take any size statements with a grain of salt.
If you're speaking in regards of the police, I believe that's the process going forward. It's suspicous that wasn't the instant mode of action, however, it could've been assumed they were part of a retail trial. Someone in flordia got arrested and fined and exorbitant amount for shooting down a walmart drone.

For me personally, the most I can say, is that it was larger than an average retail drone.

I think there’s definitely something up when these are being seen primarily on the east coast. (Are they in other areas of the country? I don’t know.) It doesn’t help that China now can unleash fucking drone swarms. This should be taken a lot more seriously, even if it turns out there’s no threat.

That's the most wasteful method of attempting to bomb something. The drones that were unmanned aircraft shit at least are still intact after bombing shit. Like yeah RC stuff has been used for bombings before which is why people get worried/antsy about unidentified RC shit coming in but you usually would notice if it's rigged up for that kind of thing. Funniest case of a "potential bomb threat"I remember from the last few years is when someone found a random radio shack RAD robot glued to the top of a random dumpster and immediately assumed it was rigged up with a bomb (it wasn't).

Oh No! The Iranians are using drones to attack American Soil!

EVERYBODY PANIC!

wait...

The Iranians are using drones to attack New Jersey. NEVERMIND!
It's the fat it's new jersey that's the most unbelievable part. Not because of any stereotypes or other shit but because like there's significantly more substantial points of interest in terms of targets to the north, west, and south of the place.
I mean unless they're aiming to bomb colonial era buildings along the delaware river, but most americans don't even know or care that those things still exist anymore I don't think which is a shame.

The problem with this is that nobody believes that the government tells the truth about basically anything anymore. It's a really huge problem for civilization in general.
Because they've straight up flip flopped and lied to such an absurd degree, especially the last 5 years, and it's weirdly seemingly almost always a push for wars on international soil.

Reposting some of the stuff i said in the UFO thread at happenings.

One of the most famous videos taken of these drones, even used by the media, ended up being a small plane.

The dozens of lights appearing and dissapearing at night? could be starlink satellites flashing reflected sunlight.

Another one, a helicopter.

I am NOT saying there's nothing odd about this NJ situation, fuck, i do believe there are foreign drones floating around and the government has 0 idea of what to do about them. What i'm saying is that lots of these civilian reports could just be misidentifications, people don't like to admit it but we have bad night sight naturally. I just want to see high quality pictures or videos of these things, no smartphones.

If you're looking at New Jersey, I would think the oil refineries around Elizabeth would be the target?

The fact they haven't been shot down is suspicious. Iran does have bigass motherships they converted from old oil tankers that could be used for this. But they're also massive. You'd be able to find it pretty quickly. My theory is government testing. See how drones affect civilian populations. Completely serious. Its the same shit they did with supersonic testing in the 50's and 60's- pushed jets at mach 2 over big cities to see the effects on the people.

Dude just throw rocks or shoot the things down
I, personally, haven't seen any low enough. In fact, I'm surprised at how high some are.
For the record I think the Iranian mothership theory is retarded.
Watched a maritime historian debunk this. Said the ship couldn't make it here in the amount of time since it left port.
