Does universal healthcare actually work somewhere?

It can work, but it depends on a couple of things.

First, you need a robust income stream. The fact that America pays for Europe's defense means money that would go to European armies instead goes to healthcare.

Second, you need a fairly healthy populace. If everyone's seeing a doctor for obesity-related complications, the strain will be too great for the system.

Third, the population needs to be relatively limited in scope, with minimal input from outside populations. No mass migration, no resurgence of diseases long eradicated.

Fourth, it needs to be a homogeneous high-trust culture based around being considerate towards others. Everyone taking their kids when they have the sniffles will quickly strain the system.

Finally, keep the damn eugenicists out of the system, so your doctors provide you with advice beyond "Kill yourself."

In other words, if Europe can get rid of its current leaders and kick out the migrants, universal healthcare can return.

It can work in a small country with highly educated people, but it will get slowly fucked and destroyed the very day mass immigration starts. Unless they are forced to learn the ways of that country and learn the language which does not happen because of multiculturalism nonsense.
Edit. Didn't notice that @Sexy Senior Citizen already explained it better here, well said bud.

Still better than the american system where a visit to the ER can cost you tens of thousands of dollars.
It's a pain in the ass but you need to get an itemized list of the bill you can argue down. It helps a lot. Hospitals will try to jew you hard on that. There's also a loophole I believe where you can just be like "I can't pay this nigga" but I forget how you're supposed to approach that. If it's life threatening emergency stuff and all they legally cannot refuse you care.

At least you get the life saving treatment you needed in a timely manner. In Europe you have to wait several weeks, if not months, and by then it might already be too late.

Could American Healthcare be better? Abso-fucking-lutely, however its still leagues better than the "universal" healthcare systems that kill their patients in the waiting room.

If you go to ER, you don't have to wait for weeks. Yeah, if the american healthcare was so good, americans wouldn't be cheering for a guy that killed a health insurance CEO.

I used to favor the idea of universal government healthcare, but one thing blew that up:

Troons/pooners. Trannies.

There's no end to how expensive it would be.
I think the rules in Europe concerning who can receive "gender-affirming healthcare" are stricter than in the US. Also fortunately trannies make up only a tiny fraction of the population.

The loophole is just not paying. Medical debt is non-collateralized dischargable debt, so it goes away in bankruptcy and even if you don't declare bankruptcy, it is very difficult to actually collect if you just let the collection calls go to voicemail.
