The games in question have already been available in Japan for a while now, and their store pages are still up.
I think what's especially notable in this case is Death end, as the game was violent and brutal enough to be slapped with a CERO-Z rating, or Japan's equivalent to AO (18+). This same rating was also given to games like Left 4 Dead in the region. Also, for whatever reason, all four volumes of Nekopara are still available for purchase on the US eShop, despite at one point being delisted and then relisted later on.
Either way, Mark and co. have already moved on to complaining about Naughty Dog's next game with the shaven head protag.

Stellar Blade already got nominated for multiple awards at The Game Awards which is already more than impressive enough so I don't know why is he sperging about some irrelevant award nobody gives a shit at some notorious game journalism website.

What's funny is the first was a reference to vice city. And that cod did it as a reference to gta6. Also? Getting mad at synthwave backgrounds because the colors are pretty is insane. Assassins creed shadows looks like shit sure. But that's an ubisoft game, the last good game they made they stole from pc players. So we have 2 decent games and 2 games that aren't put yet. 1 will probably be great because it's gta6. So we have ass ass in creed as the only potential turd. That is the point of Act Man's boy who cried 'woke' argument. If you dilute the word to be meaningless by claiming things that aren't woke are woke to try and make wokeness itself the problem with a piece of media. Eventually you get dustborn or dragon age veilguard where the games factually are ruined by their wokeness and nothing else and a lot of people don't believe it which is why dragon age had a pretty decent player count despite being dogshit.
IMHO I prefer savvys take though ok a lot of these movies games. Which is, "why not just make a movie instead?" Because yeah. If the game is mostly cutscenes and photoreal graphics then it's nothing you couldn't accomplish better with people in costumes and cheap set designs for far less money

I don't know who came up with that story - many of the Grummz-type grifters seem to define "woke" as "stuff I don't like" or "having left-wing vibes".
I'm convinced that the commercial success of Fortnite, Overwatch (the first one) and Apex Legends put that colour palette on the radar for game developers who thought they had discovered the Next Big Money Maker.
IME the bright colour design scheme was most prevalent in shooters and games adjacent to this genre. Gamers actually controlled themselves and voted with their wallets, so the trash games failed.
I also think that the grifters are late to this party, as that eye-searing look is rapidly fading away to a more gritty, realistic appearance.
(Apologies for the bad puns - they were a kind of unavoidable by-product of writing about colour).
To give the devil his due, if Kern and his butt-buddies have managed to convince even some gamers to stay off the hype train, stop pre-ordering and no longer spend money like drunken sailors on new releases, that is an objectively good thing they have done.
Caveat: Just moving this spending to shit like Ember is the complete opposite.

I just realized that by making this reply to point this out I am defeating The Beast himself Nero Ceaser or Nro Qsr (Nron Qsr in Greek hence the numbers 616 and 666 as n = 50 in jew). Anyway. I saw Mark played Indiana Jones but not Black Myth Wukong despite simping for BM:W for years and hating the Indiana Jones game until it came out. Considering we know he played this, Dragon Age, and Palworld. Anyone wanna bet be hasn't played Helldivers 2 or Stellar Blade because he's an Xbot pretending to like these games for views but refusing to play anything on Asian platforms?
