Bob was perfectly okay with women in his field being endangered by his negligence so long as he didn't have to tip over the apple cart and the apple cart benefited him. He tried to frame it in terms of abstractions about being "complicit in a status quo" but what he actually did was endanger women and expose them to an actual sexual predator. I hope to God Faraci didn't victimize anyone in the time between Bob finding this stuff out and him getting exposed, but that hope is not for Bob or Faraci's sake.

There are careers where this would pretty much ruin Bob or at least set him back several years, but in the world 30-something hack film critics who play act social activism online it's just piss in the ocean. I have no reason to believe Bob feels bad for what he did because he faced no consequences for his behavior nor did he forfeit any professional standing. Nothing. Faraci at least had the decency to fuck off and leave the public's sight.

Of course. Same reason they're reaching for the smelling salts over this while pretending Obama's administration was blissfully scandal-free, never mind the gunrunning to Mexico, the billions allocated to solar power companies that might as well have been lit on fire, the siccing of the IRS on average citizens because of their political beliefs, and a bunch of others: behind every double standard is an unconfessed single standard.

It's kind of funny that for all his bleating about how he always strives toward superiority and not being average and crapping all over middle America and Republicans, Bob is basically a bog-standard lockstep Democrat who will do whatever the party demands of him, up to and including pretending the Dowager Banshee of Chappaqua wasn't exactly as compromised as Trump would be if these leaks are true (which as @Replicant Sasqautch alluded to, is far from established.)

Also, not for nothing, but if you think the idea of Trump paying a Russian whore to piss on a bed where the Obamas slept would have dissuaded Trump voters, then you don't understand Trump voters. :trump:

It was not tolerance of women, minorities and LGBT that pushed people toward "fascism." It was the championing these people as what to aspire to and the shaming of the majority of the populace.

All this celebrating for the application of a warrant is ridiculous. Not that it is surprising. They constantly did this throughout the campaign and up to now with their "WOW LOOK AT THIS. TRUMP IS FINISHED NOW" talk. I would be worried about a revolt if I did not know that they did this for social signalling and they cannot be bothered to get up from their computer.
