Having the time to pursue your passions does not mean you should indulge in vice. This is how generational wealth is lost after all. Wine, Women and Song. Many wealthy people with more money then they know what to do with engage in productive enterprise. It could be as simple as buying a farm and breaking even on it every year, to engaging in venture capital on minor projects around town like a new bar, dining concept or retail space. Some decide to just head up charity work or otherwise engage in national level investing while living modestly off of dividends. Others use the money to gain an expensive credential like Doctor or Lawyer and work at that at their leisure.

Men need to be engaged at SOMETHING, and women want to be with a man who does SOMETHING. The OP's examples are a recipe for life ruination. An example for why most lottery winners always end up bankrupt.
