Which isn't just in contrast to everything I've been told in history class, but also the general consensus of an entire damn bookshelf I got in it's native language and written long before 2010.


Wouldn't be as funny if you didn't also consider the case of Marie-Luise Vollbrecht, a german fish biologist that made waves talking about biology, and got herself in some hot water.. ending up in front of court if its okay to denounce nazi actions (a crime in Germany. Which yes, a fish biologist ended up accused of.) When you say that no, trans didn't have it as bad as other demographics and weren't specifically targeted.

Now it's not okay to call her a nazi denouncer, as long as you're not trans. If you are, have fun and go nuts. :stress:

Didn't the nazis basically kill all the gay ones, but hand out "crossdressing licenses" to the straight ones?

I might be misremembering, but I think the nazis actually did buy into Hirschfield's ideas about some men having some sort of innate desire to crossdress (Hirschfield was a hardcore eugenicist so it's actually not that surprising that he could have ideas that line up with nazi ideology) and while they didn't think these men were women, they were okay with it as long as they weren't homos. I think their main problem with Hirschfield was that he was basically the face of homosexuality in Germany.

They did very much buy into it, and didn't have a big problem with it. I wish I could quote one of my german books actually based on how gay and lesbians were targeted, different country rn, but funnily enough, let's just use the german wikipedia

Also, Hirschfield was a Jew. That was kind of a big deal for the Nazis.

I've been enjoying perusing some normie subreddits posting about this exchange and how utterly hyperbolic/uncritical everyone is of the idea that she's a holocaust denier. It was bogus when the HP game came out and it's double bogus now. Histrionic morons, without fail.

There are compilations of photos of Wehrmacht soldiers crossdressing, I don't know if it's been shown to have been significantly more common in the Wehrmacht than other armies in comparable situations. When a conscript army goes through hundreds of towns some of them are going to come across women's clothes and some of them are going to think it's funny to wear them during the endless monotony of occupation.
I've also heard of crossdressing balls in Berlin during the Nazi regime, but I don't know how common it was either. Still, the Nazis clearly didn't have a special aversion to crossdressing or trannies the way that TRAs try to paint it.
