Lucas has a history of assuming any people who he sees together outside of job related shit that are opposite genders are automatically either having sex or trying to, to the point he was recording groups of students at SCC who were obviously either studying or doing a group project together and reeeing about how greedy they were cause they were having sex. Lucas has likely seen some random interactions this woman has with his rival and assumed a relationship. The timing alone should imply that. Why would they suddenly be in a relationship after he came back from the funny farm? As usual lucas came out nuttier than when he went in. Indeed, I meant the trip to the hospital but yeah. Point is the timing seems convenient and it should be a red flag for everybody at mallon place that two residents dating is enough to send another one into enough of a breakdown that he needs to go to the psych ward. Frankly that right there should have gotten him removed from mallon place for the safety of everyone involved. You'd think an unstable loon like lucas working himself up into a tizzy like that about other residents would raise some alarm bells for safety.
