Ukrainian Defensive War against the Russian Invasion - Mark IV: The Partitioning of Discussion

Hey gentlemen sorry to come in here and tard out but what do any of you view as the end to this conflict? All things must come to an end, this is simply my personal take but I feel like Ukraine will cede certain Western parts of the country, Luhansk peoples Republic and such, and most unfortunately I feel like the Ukrainians will be pressured to let the Russkies keep Crimea ansd most importantly Sevastopol, what do you think?

I think we're past the point Russia gets to keep anything.
Russia is not getting stronger, they're reduced to deploying cold-war tanks and Norks.

I think if they had never done this SMO they would have been able to keep a hold of Crimea, but now Russia has shown they can't be trusted.

Plus, Sevastopol is of limited strategic importance. Even before 2014 Russia was working to move the primary BSF base to Novorossiysk. Sevastopol has two primary functions:
A) Maintaining the the large percentage of Soviet-era ships in the BSF. They can maintain their
B) Ship building facilities. It was expected Russia would buy ships from Ukraine (or bring them through the Bosporus) since Novorossiysk has limited ship building.

I feel that it is more a matter of national prestige at this point. I sincerely doubt that Big Bad Russia will withdraw without having anying to show for it. I think that maybe the best solution is that Ukraine agrees to cede certain Eastern territories that the Russians always go on about and in proving so they have demonstrated that the "Worlds Second Best" military isnt capable of rollinng over one of their former Republics in a month. I feel that this is telling, for example if the United States truly wanted to absorb Mexico Itd be a month long operation, that Mighty Russia cant bowl over little Ukraine in 3 years is maddness
I think the best Russia gets is that Donbros get turned into "special autonomous districts" or something. I just don't see Russia's land grab being legitimized given how absolutely dogshit they've been at war this time.

Regarding Mexico....
The US has just absolutely monstrous force projection ability. The US has worlds two largest Airforces: the USAF and US Navy Naval Aviation. They have dones, satellites, EW systems... its not even close. With Mexico specifically, the Mexican Airforce's most common planes are fucking Cessnas.
But in reality, except for using a hypothetical to show how cucked and gay Russia's military, there is zero chance the US invades Mexico. Like there would need to be at least a decade of some monumental shifts in geopolitics before that's even on the table. So its really not even a comparison.

as for-example, Mexico has no tanks. Zero. They don't need them, because big bro the EEUU would utterly crush anyone who tried to invade Mexico, very likely before they ever even set foot on mexico. But if the US did decide to start Wildin', there is literally nothing they could do against several divisions of heavy armor. But if there was a worsening of relations that would lead up to an invasion, they would very likely secure armor and modern fighters.

Poland is sad that you forgot to invite them too.
Kaliningrad always has been a integral part of Poland.

Trump giving Ukies a hard time over a killed general comes off as pretty hypocritical considering that during his first term as president he offed a general belonging to a nation we weren't even at war with.
IT wasn't Trump, it was Kellog.
What Kellog actually said was

"When you kill flag officers, general officers, admirals or generals in their hometown, it’s like you kind of extended it [the rules of war]. And I don’t think that’s very smart to do it."

So he doesn't say it violates the rules of war, but "extends" them. i.e. does away with the sort of gentleman's agreement that you don't try to kill officers who are in their home countries, out of uniform, and not in the battle zone. which given Russia has targeted whole apartment buildings claiming because there's a cafe on the ground floor it was a UKA gathering point, is already out the window. But this is the sort of fee-fee soothing bullshit you spew when trying to get people to calm down.

He closed the interview with:
"But, you know, this is warfare... This is a kind of thing you see in warfare. It’s unfortunate. That's the reason why soldiers never want to go to war, because this is what happens," he stated.

So he's not rebuking Ukraine, and saying War is War and soldiers die in war.

Basically more lugenpresse opinion-presented-as-fact over an empty platitude.[/i]

During his end of the year speech, Putin specifically honored the 155th Marines.
They are known for their extremely poor combat performance, having been destroyed and rebuilt several times over the course of the war. They then began to make a name for themselves by executing prisoners of war and mutilating the corpses of Ukrainian soldiers.

This makes this unit a perfect example of Russian civilisation, picked by Putin himself to represent the armed forces.

About talking to Trump:

You said: what can we offer or I can offer to President-elect Trump when we meet with him?

First of all, I don't know when we're going to meet with him because he's not saying anything about it. I haven't talked to him at all in over four years. I'm ready for that, of course, at any time, and I'll be ready for a meeting if he wants it.
He is also asked whether Russia would make concessions, and gives a non-answer. "We were always willing to make compromises, but evil Westerners told the Ukrainians to continue to fight even though we already had such a nice treaty in Istanbul 2022" bla bla, Ukraine needs to make compromises first. "Russia is always happy to negotiate", except in reality Russia has refused to negotiate ever since this this war started. so make of this lie what you will.
He also said he will only talk to a "legitimate" Ukrainian government, running with the Kremlin line that Zelensky is not properly elected. You have heard that talking point on anti-American "American patriot" accounts.

He was also asked about the killing of the Russian general in Moscow and called this a terror attack. Same old, every Ukrainian military action ever is an act of terrorism because Ukraine isn't a country, has no military, and Russia isn't at war.

This is a sunflower field btw.

The Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Russia has permitted religious polygamy.

As the Mufti of Moscow Ildar Alyautdinov told RIA Novosti, the council of ulemas (theological scholars) has allowed Russian Muslims to enter into up to four religious marriages, provided that the husband treats all wives fairly and equally.

This is permitted if the spouse is unable to bear children due to her health, the end of her reproductive age or other objective reasons, for example, sexual incompatibility of the spouse.

The religious leader added that a married man must also inform his wife of his intention to remarry another woman.

It is unacceptable to hide the presence of a wife. If she (the second wife) was not informed about this and is not ready to put up with it, then she has the right to demand the dissolution of her nikah (wedding according to Islamic norms)

It is an act of cruelty to let Russia gain control of any kind of land. The former territories of Finland, Germany, Japan, Ukraine, Mongolia ect annexed or seized by Russia in the last 100 years have been transformed into dysfunctional Africa tier shitholes without exception. If anything the Global community should take a stance that Russia should return territorials gained by force since the rise of the USSR. What Russia can "get" out of a potential peace deal is allowing the oligarchs running that crack den they call Russia to continue to fleece their willing slave chattel on the condition they stay in their Eurasian shithole.

Maybe over compensation for Chamberlains "Peace in our time".
That and fucking over the Poles in both 1939 and 1945. The Poles are probably the one back the UK actually feels guilty about stabbing.
Gen Kellog does talk of Russia losing 5 men for every one Ukrainian, but there seems this misplaced awe for Russian meatwave tactics.
Trouble is those tactics can be effective if you're a petty tyrant who cares not one whit for how many give their lives in your service. Borodino was an absolutely horrendous slaughter for the Russians and then afterwards to cover the retreat they ordered the life guards to stand there in the half-ruined fort and get blown up by Napoleon's artillery as a delaying tactic. And then they took that time to evacuate and burn down Moscow, letting General Winter do the job the Russian Army could not. As things stand now, Russia has over 4x the population Ukraine does, and nobody in their right mind will ever accuse Putin of caring about dead mobiks. If three mobiks die for every Ukrainian, he probably considers that a win, and he's not exactly wrong to think that since he has reserves and Ukraine doesn't.
But evidently the UK kept going with lasers, and it looks like their bets are paying off; and now they have Ukraine for the ultimate field testing before scale production.
So have we, but mostly the Navy. In 2014 they did some "field tests" in the Persian Gulf of a ship-mounted tactical laser small enough to fit over the navigation bridge that were totally not them telling the Iranians they need to do better than boghammars if they want to pick a fight with the US Navy... again. Ten years later they've whipped up HELIOS, a 300kw monster that's well...

Not really all that much bigger.

Unlike the Russians who can't keep their mouths shut when it comes to hyping up their latest example of technological mediocrity, the USA is very, very good at keeping its lips sealed when it wants to. Didn't Ukraine wind up hitting a few targets that were supposedly outside what the claimed range of ATACMS was? And let's not forget how many times "We've agreed to hand weapons over to Ukraine" has turned out to be "We've agreed to let Ukraine use the weapons they've already been stockpiling for months".
That car is certainly interesting, it's got the body of a Moskvich 407 with the front grille and headlights of a Trabant 601.
Smekalka, tovarisch.

Czechoslovakia is the worst one IMO. They were the strongest military power in Central Europe, stronger than Germany itself at the time, and could have ripped the Nazis a new asshole in 1938 if Chamberlain hadn't cucked and given Hitler the fortified border regions in the Sudetenland.

Smekalka, tovarisch.
I'm somewhat curious about the volume of toxic fumes burning Duroplast would produce in a combat zone.

I swear if I see the Russians using a Trabi mounted with steel dildos in the Lesser Patriotic War I'll lose my shit laughing.

You'd think a bunch of Slavs having a drunken slapfight would somehow devolve into Ork-like jury-rigging of giant monstrosities like you'd see in a Mad Max film and then stop there, but no. We've gone past that into an AI-generated Slavmobile with antenna cocks on top.

What if there's fog? How well does the laser penetrate through fog?

Right. You'd think they would jury rig some bucket-wheel excavators or even a fucking train for Killdozer action.

Instead the heroes of the Russian Federation get a god-damned pink economy car with a two-stroke engine.

Trump wants 5% Nato defence spending target, Europe told
One person said they understood that Trump would settle for 3.5 per cent, and that he was planning to explicitly link higher defence spending and the offer of more favourable trading terms with the US. “It’s clear that we are talking about 3 per cent or more for [Nato’s June summit in] The Hague summit,” said another European official briefed on Trump’s thinking.

"Surrender today and welcome tomorrow in South Korea!"

For the North Korean military in Kursk, Ukrainian drones carry not only death, but also a proposal for how to survive and start a new life as a free person.

In recent days, our channel of the international intelligence community InformNapalm, as well as other military and volunteer channels, have published quite a few videos of the destruction of North Korean soldiers in the Kursk region using FPV drones and HIMARS missiles with cluster warheads .

But as we noted earlier, Ukrainian drones not only kill North Korean soldiers fighting on the side of the Russian occupation forces, but also drop leaflets on them in the Korean language they understand.

Today we share with our readers footage of Ukrainian drones dropping leaflets over positions occupied by DPRK soldiers and giving them a chance to choose life before the positions are attacked by strike drones or cluster munitions. DPRK servicemen are guaranteed anonymity in the event of surrender, as well as active assistance in providing the opportunity to start a free life in the Republic of Korea 🇰🇷.

It is too early to sum up the practical effectiveness of such examples of humanism on the part of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, but at least it is an attempt to establish communication with enemy soldiers who came to fight against Ukraine not of their own free will and not for money. Even if over time at least one DPRK soldier is able to choose the path of life, not death, and start a new life as a free person, this will be an example of the efforts not being in vain.

"Surrender today and welcome tomorrow in South Korea!"
It's a great idea but outside the most hardcore cadres you know these conscripts have their families held hostage in the DPRK in exchange for this opportunity to build a multipolar Russian World.

Fatboy Kim's regime has no problems with state-sponsored multigenerational murder so say goodbye to your grandparents, wife, in-laws, aunts, uncles, nephews and children if you decide to cross the lines and surrender.

Right. You'd think they would jury rig some bucket-wheel excavators or even a fucking train for Killdozer action.

I guess you missed their attempt to disguise a T-72 as a steel barn or garden shed to keep it safe from drones... only for a drone to fly in the open front door and take it out.

The F-117 and B-2 Spirit were hidden skunksworks projects no one knew about until Bush casually let them crater baghdad
There was apparently a lot of consternation about the F-117 being made public given how a stealth figher/bomber had been complete and (small) production run completed in utter secrecy and the general sort of "You're giving up the element of surprise for goddamn CAMELFUCKETS". but the reality was the F-117 had been developed, built, and by Desert Storm was practically obsolete because advances in phased RADAR rendered its angular stealth profile only a few notches over that of a Su-57.

Small point of order: They had the most ADVANCED army but not the strongest. That is, they had recently modernized all their equipment so no WWI legacy weapons were gumming up the works. Czech war plans still relied on the Brits coming to bail them out in the event of war - which is why they listened to Chamberlain's retarded ass idea.

If the Czechs hadn't been made to give up the Sudetenland (and more importantly the extremely well-built defensive works), they would have been almost certainly able to hold out until the Brits and/or Frogs got into gear. And if not, the cost would have been so ruinous there would be no way Germany would have been able to go into Poland let alone deal with the Frogs/Bri*ish.

What if there's fog? How well does the laser penetrate through fog?
It will reduce the effectiveness somewhat, but at 300Kw that fog will get vaporized almost instantly.

Interesting, so if you capture a North Korean you can hand them over to South Korea, since it's the same country?
Best/Worst Korea still exist at war with each other. Thus Worst Korea can accept Best Korean POWs from anyone involved in hostilities with them.

I'm honestly not 100% how this works being that the Norks are (for purposes of rules of war) Russian Soldiers -becuase if they aren't North Korea has just declared war on Ukraine. So they would be Russian Soldiers and Worst Korea isn't at war with them. But in a wholly unrelated war, they are at war with Best Korea and they are still Best Korean citizens.

It's hard to say.
I'd wager a serious prediction a month ago, but Syria just proved me wrong as to why never to make such predictions.

Realistically, it's likely that Russia will end the war with some form of territorial concession; but it will be far from their original war aims of conquering the whole country. Even their secondary "land bridge to Transistria/landlocked Ukraine!" is pretty much a pipe dream at this point in the game (unless something drastic happens).
They could have had Kiev if they'd had played their cards better and Putin had showed more patience, Ukraine could have truly been neutral had they not been terrible, aggressive neighbors. But instead, Russia has ensured that 80% of Ukraine stays hostile to make a land grab on 20% of it.

The big question is whether or not Ukraine is permanently barred from joining NATO or not.

If the US weren't retarded we'd fast track them and deal Russia a resounding Loss, but alas the US is the master of making lingering defeats out of what should be easy wins...

To be fair, the 155th were one of the better-performing units in the early days of the war. Granted the bar was not becoming a meme like the VDV at Hostomel and Odessa, and not getting their teeth smashed in the failed assault on Kharkiv 4th Guards.

After the original 155th marines all got battlefield retirements, yeah the mobik replacements probably started sucking though.

I agree on the hypocrisy.
Its doubly dumb because Russia and Iran are allies, so we literally did the same thing to the same side under Trump.

But also I think both cases of said generals getting killed are fucking based.

The biggest distinction I can see is that Soleimani was abroad in Iraq, a combat zone, while this guy was in Moscow. It's a lot easier to defend going after someone who was in enemy territory, stirring shit up, than it is to defend going after someone who was in his own capital city.
