Whether you care about climate change or not is beyond the point. Many people do, most of them are single issue voters from the middle class. She abandoned many of her principles as the election was still going on. As a middle class vaguely left leaning Normie who wants your children to exist on a livable planet, while also seeing your groceries go up, who are you going to vote for? The one candidate who claims she cared now doesn't. The other will at least bring down taxes and maybe make it easier to do business.
Most would either not vote or put in a spite vote. This could also explain the far lower turnout. During 2020, everyone was terminally online consuming shitty covid-19 news. Now that's done with, everyone could fucking care less. Rightoids think orange didn't do the right thing and leftoids think he didn't do enough, spite votes stacking up.

Don't get me wrong, a federal ban on fracking and promoting EVs without any infrastructure is fucking stupid. I'm a lot more left leaning on climate issues than most here but her policies were just fucking retarded. None of it will ever work. You can't just ban something outright when clearly jobs are on the line and there's far better alternatives.

BlueSky will go out with a whimper like all the other alternatives not because of sabotage but because they are just discount twitter and crazy idiots run the asylum.

Look at YouTube and the alternatives. The alternatives limp on but will never be real competition because they aren’t trying to be anything other than off brand YouTube.

BlueSky is just lame Twitter. Same as Threads and Mastadon. The conservative alt versions probably would have died for the exact same reasons because it’s just off brand but rightie twist…but the lefties deliberately sabotaged them so they just died faster. That’s it.

If all you ever do is chase trends instead of try to carve out your own identity amongst the trends, you are doomed to fizzle out.

It is one of the major tells that Dev is not a Centrist at all, and is in no way just sticking to fucked principles. The Right and Center view Twitter as more balanced, with the right pointing out the moderation staff still very much is Left-wing. Only those on the Left-Wing think Twitter has actually gone into being a Right-Wing outlet.

What kills his ability to be a centrist is his refusal to not have a take on literally every single little thing. He acts like he wants to know all the info before making an opinion, but in reality he just spouts off whatever his first line of thought is, no matter how it taints any ability for him to appear neutral.

I don't nessicarily mind him having a take on everything. It's the fence post up his ass. He doesn't have a set code that he follows. It's what he thinks will put him in the good graces of daddy government at the moment. It's why he flips so much.
 
If Dev wasn't a Canadian, I would be tempted to feel that he was actually Tom Preston. Same bad take energy.
