Say one of them knocks and won't leave and is outside just going crazy on your front porch. Now you open the door, pepper spray them, and push them away from you. Would you expect in that situation to be the one in handcuffs at the end? If you are getting death threats, having some stranger yelling at you from your own porch sure seems like a threat to me. Keep in mind, he didn't use lethal force or anything, though honestly he might have been better off doing that because then she wouldn't be able to spin whatever crazy story she wants.

Nick opened his door before the granny had even rung the doorbell and WITHOUT telling her to leave, pepper sprayed her, put his hands on her, and then went outside to steal her phone. That is not the behavior of someone who is afraid of the visitor or thinks they are armed. What this murder attempt incident shows is that when Nick is actually concerned about a visitor, actually afraid for his safety, he doesn't answer the door.

Someone saying something stupid on Facebook is many degrees of magnitude less than an e-celeb with a doxed address making a career off of saying he wants people killed or raped.

Can we please stop pretending that A) Nick hasn't been deliberately painting a target on his back for years and B) Nick was in any way afraid of that grandma?

Illinois in general and the Chicago metro area in specific are about the worst place on the planet to do this. Even where it is allowed, a use of force has to be reasonable. Sometimes, indeed, beating the shit out of them when they won't leave is defensible, but still, you'd rather be the one holding all the cards in any legal situation, not the one getting fisted with the long arm of the law.

If you aren't in actual danger don't act like a fucking idiot.

Let the public servants take out the trash for you.

Show you only escalated when the other guy (or gibbering yenta for that matter) made it impossible to resolve the situation without force.

My opinion is that Tyler has undertaken role of producer, as it makes sense why he would be in his property at that time. Other Groypers being moved in post the Marla incident is also possible.
