The problem is ResetERA doesn't even recognize this. They believe the cooked "statistics" that says women make up 50% of the market.

I do think probably a high percentage of women do play vidya, particularly mobile games, but I'd guess most of the ones that do are not fanatic about it. They just do it to pass the time and generally see it as kind of a waste of time when you could be doing other things. Like, they're not thinking about the story, they just want to beat the next candy crush stage or get enough points to customize their characters with fancy clothes.

The thing is that someone that plays scrabble on their phone is not in the same realm as someone that plays Elden Ring on their gaming PC/console.
Someone that plays Fortnite for an hour a week is not on the same level as someone that plays Counter Strike 10 hours a day.

It doesn't stop there. I've seen questions like "do you have a system in your home?" count as being a "gamer." That is, if your partner or children play games you are now a statistic. It's all misleading. Any online lobby will show you how small of a userbase they are. Obviously they exist but are usually outnumbered 10 to 1.

And there are bigger titles that have large women userbase, like The Sims for example. But for the games ResetERA are typically discussing/complaining about, they are mostly male dominated.

Someone saw people complaining about teachers online, found the comments to be 'misogynistic'. So he came to complain about it on Era. It didn't go as planned.

I have to say, Resetera understanding proportions, and not jumping to defend women/shit on men is surprising. Even a little heartening. OP didn't get shouted at (as he might have if he'd started a thread specifically to complain about female teachers), but it ended up just turning into people being fairly relaxed as they shared their teacher stories. Can't have that.
