The Elder Scrolls

Skyblivion is supposed to come out next year, so there is. Beyond Skyrim is never coming out, though, and the modding scene is absolutely overrun with troon
I really wish we got more leaks about Beyond Skyrim. Hearing about how one guy was making all the assets but the team hated him for being a CHUD was a real hoot. Honestly if I had to guess then I imagine the more competent devs of the project diverged into either Skyblivion or Skywind, with the less capable people moving to the latter seeing as how it hasn't shown any signs of development since that poor gameplay showcase.

Part of why I don’t believe the rumors; if they’re going for UE5, that’s going to be a lot more work than it’s worth. I’ve also heard they contracted it out to a different company, and that it’ll be like Halo Remastered with dual engine support.
Those both make it sound more believable if anything.

I saw online people were saying that two of the leads for Skyblivion were "racist Muskers" so it is no small wonder why that one is actually making headway compared to "I put 'gay rights' in Daedric on this box!' Skywind

The Oblivion remakes I've seen are all claiming it is being made with Unreal 5. Which to me is how you know it isn't real.
As much shit as Unreal gets, it's way better than whatever shit Bethesda is currently working on and they do not want people to point out its possible to do with another engine better.
I'd imagine we'd see reports about Bethesda hiring people with experience in that engine too and we haven't seen that. Which to mean says they're either exporting it to a third party. Or its horse shit.
I'm going with horse shit.

Project Cyrodiil and Tamriel Data for Morrowind got major updates today.
One of the biggest updates to Cyrodiil in years.
>Over 160 quests
>Ocean exploration
>Stirk rework

What an amazing Christmas present. Sutch isn't included but from the previews I saw of it some time ago it is very close to completion. I can see Salt & Spice being released sometime next year.

It also helps that Skyblivion has the more reasonable goal if "Oblivion, but in the skyrim engine", while the skywind team is looking to make significant changes to areas and questing

Yeah, Tamriel Rebuilt also got an update. With the progress they're making they should finish the mainland before TES6 comes out.

I think the leaks said they’re using both the original engine with Unreal Engine “layered on top”. I’m not sure what precisely that means but I guess they’re using both, somehow.

That sounds even more retarded. So now you have two separate game engines working together?
This is my uncle from nintendo playground rumors at this point.

I wonder if anyone here can answer but I doubt it since it's been years and it was so sudden. There was an artist whose art I really liked called "Radishezrom" or something. No one knows where they went as everyone they knew (online) said they just vanished off the face of the planet, how any heard of anything about this person with these past few years?

And my personal favorites:

There's an archive on Tumblr (they were originally from there apparently, faggot ass website Tumblr...) which should have most, if not all, of their art, Elder Scrolls or not. Given that it's Tumblr, they probably necked themselves.
Nothing will ever be better than the first time you played Oblivion. A remake, official or modded, will never be as good.
Good or bad, that's every game. Can never have that back, but at least you can have more "first times." That being said, make sure your dopamine receptors or whatever the fuck aren't fried so you can actually feel something.

Time to fire up Morrowind once again!

Former Bethesda devs are interviewed about Todd Howard.
Will Shen said as much during his GDC talk and it was suspected for a long time before.
What sucks is that there are people, even Bethesda fans, who accept that Emil is a cancer, that the games have been going downhill, that the studio(s) is staffed by incompetents, but will still deny or downplay Todd's role. Every bad decision was greenlit by Todd. It's a bitter pill. Will Shen also said that because Todd is the bottleneck, Todd is massively overworked and good luck even trying to run something past him personally. This is also why it's likely there'll never be two teams at the main Maryland branch - it'd be too much for Todd to handle if he's already overwhelmed as is.

If it's true, I really wonder how moddable it's going to be.

I almost hope that it's not just so people can stop parroting the "Creation engine is bad" myth. The engine is fine, it's the people that don't know how to make games that's the issue.

Creation Engine after Skyrim is bad.
Fallout 4 is a mess.
Starfield is worse.
Skyrim Special Edition is easy only because of the 64 bits update. It's the same Skyrim version anyway.

Starfield is worse.
And why is that? It's because Fallout 4 tried to be mass effect with it's dialogue wheel and "preset story", and starfield had a boring world no one wanted to engage with. Nothing about the engine is inherently "bad", Bethesda just doesn't have an original bone in it's body.

Both mods and FO4's DLC prove that Bethesda can make more engaging games than they choose to release. Shitty UE4/5 games are a dime a dozen and it doesn't mean that unreal is inherently "shit.

Neither of those issues come from the engine, it comes from unimaginative people who can't problem solve and choose not to utilize the engine to it's fullest.

Even you admit that "the Creation Engine is bad after skyrim", but skyrim is shit too. The only thing that's changed since skyrim is the market.
