So when I've got nothing really going on I have Gundam's DSP videos on as background noise and one thing I've heard Phil say multiple times is that he helped Twitch get rid of the trolls and the toxicity. Was it just on his channel he was talking about or did Phil actually believe that he helped remove trolls across the entire site?

Maybe referring to deplatforming Tevin briefly? It would be very DSP to generalize that into a death blow to all trolls everywhere on Twitch.

Do we have any lore on Phil's upbringing that hasn't come from Phil himself? As funny as the classic Wolverine toy story is, he could have pulled that out of thin air for all anyone knows. Remember, he thought that story made him look good and his parents look dumb until people started making fun of him. Same as when he brags about having every popular toy growing up, he might genuinely think it's a flex. Like someone said earlier, dude lives to lie.

I'm not saying none of it's true, of course, I'm just saying unless Phil's cousin decides to come out and drop a load of lore we don't really know anything about his life before the early 00s when he started interacting with FGC members.

DSP beat the credit card companies and the government

Jim paid his balance, his interest, court costs, collection costs and ended up paying much more than he ever cost the CC companies, which wrote it off and got it back by jacking up everyone else's APR. Jim did not succeed at scamming the companies.

Interesting note is that ever since he entered the KC arc, hes been in a buying spree. If something seems to inconvenience him momentarily he will just buy a replacement. His spending this last few months have ramped up which makes me wonder if he got extra money on the side or a dent is dropping bucks on this fat polack. Another thing is that previously lets say his controller was dying, he would subtle beg for it but wouldnt straight up say hes gonna buy one up at that moment. Now he defaults to just buying a replacement which leads me to believe his entitlement has increased and whatever kept his greed in check has ceased to exist and our culprit for that is the Kino Casino glazing as the kids call it.

Yes.... DSP lied about sperging the fuck out over the wolverine doll to make himself look good? It made him look like a total retard to anyone who has ever heard it so it didn't quite work out. He was the single kid to a decently well off family until his cousin showed up so him having every game system and action figure is probably true if you ever knew any kids like that back then they had em all.

We have records of DSP going back to AOL newsgroups no need to overthink it he was spoiled and got whatever he wanted and was a complete dick.

Call me crazy but this destructive force of nature known as Katzilla who routinely decimates QVC trinkets and overpriced knick-knack tat around the house sure sounds like she has a lot in common with Phil "give her a pill and leave her on the side of the road" Burnell.

If that khando housed what sounds a whole lot like two genuine Darksy Dephils I think it would have burned to the ground years ago.

My disbelief in phil's word only stems from every single lying bitch breath he takes though so I could be barking up the wrong tree.

I think he tries to frame it as him being a caretaker of a medically retarded dependent, as a way to sneak beg. But, Judging from how Kat looked better than DSP at LikeADragon Dondoko Island, she might be the only reason the place hasn't burned down by now

Rating these both disagree because the only lore of DSP's childhood have come from DSP himself. He is a notoriously unreliable narrator to begin with and has only brought up some specific stories.

Outside of that I believe no one from his childhood or university has ever dropped lore. There's not even any photos of him as a kid. The recent documentary I think had a photo of him in his high school yearbook but that's it.

That of course doesn't mean he wasn't spoiled or whatever or that the AOL shit doesn't give some hints but it does mean there's very little information about DSP before the FGC.

The only other 3rd party info was from someone who worked with him at Sikorsky and didn't really say much (I mentioned this ages ago). They said he "seemed nice" and that was about it.

• DSP's parents/relatives (never going to happen)
• Some random faggot who went to elementary/high school with him and realized how "famous" he is now

Both of those are extremely unlikely to happen though. There are thousands upon thousands of videos and feature length documentaries about "the guy" and no one has ever popped up.

The other possibility is someone does deep dive research and contacts his teachers/people who went to his school - but my hunch is that DSP was totally unremarkable in every way possible until he got internet/YouTube famous and was probably pretty quiet and shy so no one would remember shit.

You would assume that as the valedictorian someone would remember "the guy" but that has never happened.

If someone tells you for 20 years he was spoiled and had everything besides friends as a kid and every single person who ever personally interacted with him post childhood outside of wagie work settings says yes that's true and all have public falling outs with him you don't need to overthink it.

Agreed but what you're stating is an assumption (which is pretty accurate IMHO). The original question was specifically about lore.

You can assume lots of things about people but there are no photos or 3rd person accounts of DSP's early (pre-FGC) life.
I doubt anything would come up which is that surprising but it would still be interesting to hear.

Not disagreeing with you completely but I think the Wolverine story is legit. I think some parts of the story he embellished but he was the type of kid who'd throw a motherload of a tantrum when being told no. A few years ago I remember he did a reack of old Christmas commercials and without fail 90% if a toy came out in the late 80's or early to mid 90's, he mentioned having the toy.

There already was one though who left a comment on the DTRH video and basically said he thought DSP was nice enough.
What you can infer from that is that the way DSP acts online is totally different to how he is IRL and that no one IRL gives a second though to him like we do.

TLDR: He's a quiet and shy person IRL and no one is gonna drop deep lore any time soon unless it's Leanna or his parents (which will never happen to begin with)
