Since there aren't any active Destiny/Bungie threads as far as I'm aware of, I'll just post about this here. Destiny 2 is down the shitter, currently having hit record lows in its player count, down to just 11k on Steam. I quit myself after the latest DLC because even though it was good, the proceeding content was just the regular slop and the game still has a lot of problems with it. This is intentional from the upper management at Bungie, with them having stated that they intentionally don't overdeliver so that they can keep player expectations low, but this alongside neglect of the core of the game has led to many people quitting and even the Destiny youtubers to have to diversify their content to other games to keep their channels alive. Just like Halo, a real shame.
Its a major problem, I quit the game recently as well, I have a feeling its going to last another at best another 6 months before servers shut down for good. as much shit as we gave 343, Modern Bungie would not handle the franchise well either, at least Microsoft has an infinite money glitch so we keep getting Halo games, Sony on the other hand refuses to even integrate Bungie even though they acquired them, leading to a beloved series such as Destiny likely getting a permanent death

Sony likely bought bungo for the IP and possibly to raid their remaining stash of devs to prop up their other studios. After all, rumours had it that Bungie was brought in to help Firewalk Studios push the abortion that was Concord out the gate.

Their proprietary engine is so old and archaic that I can believe it can't do certain things
You can make any engine do nearly anything with some work and talent.
Dead Space trilogy was made on a EA Sports golf game engine.
IO Interactive is still on the same engine since the 90s.

Too bad all those graphics mean nothing when locked to shitty always online servers. I think they should stop killing games. Fuck IOI.

sony bought bunghole as a knee-jerk reaction to MS seemingly buying half the industry and directly threatening their COD cashcow. another factor is that sony had no "live service experience" and destiny still running even when bungie does nothing but wallow in their own shit probably looked attractive - they must be doing something right, right? turns out they didn't, just coasting along on inerti and brandname, their shiteater consumers are not a reflection of the larger customerbase. they most likely also fucked up plenty of sony's live service ventures with their "expert knowledge" harder than when sony would've tried on their own. like TLOU multiplayer.

otoh sony still employs "aloy is my waifu" hulst and "peg me troon" neil cuckman, so they're in good company.

this.
still cracks be up when people go "bro frostbite is a fps engine, of course it can't do X" - nigger what you think UNREAL engine is?

It helps that everyone and their mother knows how to work with Unreal. Frostbite, on the other hand, was not only meant to run on third person RPGs like EA forced Bioware to, but at this point there is barely anyone at DICE who knows how to even work with it, which means that if Battlefield does come back it will likely be on Unreal. Absolute state of this industry.

shit like that is why I don't have much hope for a Halo 7 at least campaign-wise, I think the best case scenario is either a hard reboot or re-doing the story from after Halo 3 to come up with a new threat that isn't le Forerunner Bionicle's Post-Covenant war, Multiplayer in my personal opinion is in a better-spot, as long as the next games launches with enough maps and modes (and forge ideally) then they wont run into the issues they did with Infinite
we kept switching bad guys after Halo 4 you see the didact.

Some guy on /vr/ leaked a ton of development material from Halo 1-Reach, including the 2000 Macworld build and a couple of Halo 3 level blockouts for cut missions. This is mostly content that the Digsite team was working to restore, but there's stuff in here that they didn't have access to, including some design documents. Most notably, an outline of CE's story and weapons.

Is it actually a leak when digsite exists and is explicitly tasked with finding old stuff from the early versions of the games?

Jul Mdama's Covenant made more sense in 4 then 5, at least with 4 they were scattered and on the run so the Mdama put his lot in with the Diadact who is an actual Forerunner so hes a God to them. Halo 5's campaign was fucking terrible because he gets killed off in the first mission and the Covenant is somehow still able to put up a fight against Arbiter's Sangheli despite the fact they took two Ls in a row with the Didact and Jul Mdama dying, the only thing good about Halo 5 campaign-wise was the set-pieces and art style being good, especially in the middle of the game when your fighting against the Arbiter in said battle

which isn't a problem of the engine. fucking ubisoft of all people manages to handle FOUR different engines, there's zero excuse for EA being cheap retards. they could've offer licenses and employ the same perks of a secondary market as unreal does, but again cheap retards.

you ending the reborn coveted by just shooting them in the first mission of Halo 5 is insanely anticlimactic.

That should have been all of Halo 5 and the created with literally ******** there was one book where they hinted at there was an extremely powerful forerunner AI screwing with the coveted and screwing with the UNSC but I guess they abandoned that plot line.
Also Halo 6 here's this new race of people I was like I literally do not care about any of these people at all somehow the UNSC is shattered and somehow they defeated Cortana how reasons don't ask questions

Edit: I hope someone can figure out how to make a version of Halo 2 that doesn't require 26 gbs by not stapling the anniversary graphics to an already fine product.
That shit really annoys me, AFAIK the MCC version is the best way to play the campaign and also mods but you have to install almost 30GB just to play 20 year old game because a bunch of faggots couldn't of had it be an optional separate download
I pray with every fiber of my being that the game industry crashes and faggots who do this shit will suffer

I'm still not done with the Terraleak(largely thanks to the leechers) and yet we've got a new drop. Great!
Do the Mega links in the OP contain the same 3 data files that the gofile link does?

Yep. As long as you got those three, you got all 86gb under your belt.

That's the one thing that's really put me off from attempting LASO for Halo 2, and really by extension the rest of the series. You're going to have to save and quit a lot while doing LASO runs due to the Iron skull, which is a lot of time spent going back to the menu and relaunching the game. But the load times for H2 in particular are atrocious, presumably because of how it's having to load in the anniversary graphics too, and given its difficulty, that means a lot of time waiting, likely many times in a row for some checkpoints, making it even more of a slog.

Honestly, they should just remove Iron from the LASO playlists, or at least create separate solo-only playlists without it. I know some purists would complain, but unless they're actually doing deathless runs of each level, they don't really have any room to. Everyone works around it some way or another, whether it's save-and-quit or playing co-op. It doesn't really add much in the way of challenge, it's just tedious.

As someone who attempted LASO I can confirm that's very true, saving and quitting to the menu to resume the playlist adds up and makes shit unbearable

Honestly I don't know what the fuck they were thinking with the LASO playlist in general, you play it and you can tell it was not playtested in the slightest
cairo station has no real strategies besides pushing sgt johnson around the whole map so he can be bait for the enemies and that takes a long timem then you have gravemind's prison where because of the That's Just Wrong skull the enemies are constantly aware of you and will fire and kill you right as you go down the grav lift with no chance to do anything except learn to pull off the prison skip to avoid the area entirely

that's just the tip of the iceberg of how fundamentally broken LASO is but the iron skull is just completely unnecessary because it's already bullshit and that skull is why I will never try LASO
