General Wrestling Discussion

I don't envy any of you who willfully consume anything iwc related. This thread, wrestling bios, and wwe.com are my sole sources of wrestling related content. I just don't have the time or patience for that vortex of pure, uncut retardation.
OSW Review is fun, too. Similar vibe to Wrestling Bios and they largely avoid the smarky mentality.

I enjoy having content as like background stuff and I dipped into some of Zane's shit, but he's like....the Nostalgia Critic for wrestling shit. Dumb skits and awkward delivery. Couldn't really deal with his shit.

Kinda dig it honestly.
I've been singing STEVENNNNN FLOOOOOOWE in my head for 2 days straight. I would pay good money to see an entire crowd chanting along to his music. It'd be funny if people going to WWE TV tapings would just bust out in random bouts of singing STEVENNNNN FLOOOOOOWE. Anyone have an in with the NXT crowd? Get them to do it for the lols.

Honestly, I think there would've been some licensing issues with WWE if he ever decided to make an apperance or even be in a match. The only reason why major bands don't bother with most indies is because they're under the radar most of the time.
Update from the last post,

Zane has been sperging the fuck out. It's hard to follow through and document what exactly is happening because he keeps sending his followers and replying to different things to a point I don't know where to start. But what piqued my interest was when this dude he was arguing with said something along the lines of Zane having 'low IQ followers'.

Unable to control himself after hearing such slander, Brian Zane decided to look up studies to tell you that just because his detractors have high IQ, doesn't mean they are smart?

That ought to teach this Baiter guy not to call Brian's fans stupid anymore!
Honestly, I was not expecting to be wrestling with the wregret of watching this guy.

Was rewatching the Donny and Clarence Show on youtube (from the creator of The Big Lez Show) and this scene made me laugh when I pictured Jack Perry as the potadaheaded cunt on the left and CM Punk as the sasquatch on the right:

I also wouldn't really consider Triple H a GOAT performer. Guys like Foley, Austin and Angle basically sacrificed a ton to build him up. He was good, but ironically was the B+ kind of guy he described Daniel Bryan as, IMO. He tended to flounder when he was the best guy in the ring and didn't have Shawn/Angle/Benoit/Booker/etc holding his ass up.
More or less this. He was definitely a big draw in his prime, but you can always name two to three wrestlers who drew more money during those years. Even beyond the Reign of Terror (which, open revisiting, may have been even worse than people say), what good came from him routinely beating Jericho when was massively over after jumping ship from WCW? How much good came from him coming out of retirement to beat CM Punk clean when Punk was the hottest star and the biggest draw in the company at the time? A lot of people excuse those examples because of his most recent successes, but him being a good booker doesn't retroactively change the context of what he did in the past.

E: Also, Zane is such an insufferable cunt. Dude spent years running down Hogan, Nash, Triple H, and other guys who don't fit the approved workrate metrics and now starts crying because the chickens are coming home to roost. "Why can't we just enjoy wrestling a boo boo boo?"
Zane is so awful. He's a wannabe Jim Cornette.

Agreed. HHH was good. Like he did everything good. Nothing bad, nothing great. Just good at everything. He had charisma, but was no Austin or Rock. He could cut a promo, but was no Austin. He was good in the ring, but wasn't outstanding like HBK. He was, as Cornette said, the guy who works with the guy who draws the money. That isn't a bad thing, but no where outside of WWE's revisionist history would HHH ever be considered in the same tier as Austin or Rock.

The reign of terror was just awful. A guy doing what he did is fine as long as he gets his comeuppance once in a while, but that never happened. For all of Vince's faults, he routinely got his comeuppance. HHH absolutely should've put over Booker T at Wrestlemania.

Bret and DDP both really enjoyed working with each other and have been complimentary towards each other. Bret did a lot of the same pre-planning as well, too.
You're absolutely right. The more I think about it, it definitely wasn't Bret

Oh this is going to drive me nuts. Who the freak was I thinking of.

Going back on OSW's review of the Post Invasion era Raw on Christmas; their comment about Palumbo, while I agree he was forgettable in most angles, I wonder why WWF didn't try to make a big deal of him jumping ship in the final weeks of Invasion storyline, like have him beat up RVD as orders from Vince for declining his offer to jump to WWF or have him attack other former Alliance members that are face.

Imagine getting mad on Xitter.

I feel like he was the Jake Roberts, Roddy Piper, Dolph Zigglar or Sheamus of the Attitude era... a solid hand who could never carry the company, but believable enough when you need an opponent for the top guy.

Think about this: the one time no one had any bad things to say about this fag was when Lucha Underground put a mask on him and didn't let him talk.

And even then, the rest of the roster was still more interesting than him. :story:
