because they're "spectacle" games, just like a summer blockbuster movie. they're not supposed to be deep or cerebral, it's supposed to make you go "whoa" while eating popcorn (or in the case of vidya doritos with mountain dew). it's like complaining indiana jones doesn't visit auschwitz and lectures the audience.
the first game came out in 2007, of course it's nothing mindblowing anymore in 2024. pretending "bro it was never good" is just as retarded as fanboi cocksucking, just the other side of the coin.

I personally find the second game fascinating on a technical level as it only required like 10 seconds of loading and that was it until you left the game.

It's impossible to ever feel bad for Playstation fans.

Wonder if this is an age thing. The current batch of Sony fans seem to be too young to have played the PS2 or remember the PS3's disaster of a launch that was caused by arrogance. Would be interesting to see what the average age of Xbox Series owners are compared to PS5 owners.

I kinda felt bad sperging at Christmas about the subject of online connectivity to my 9 year old nephew who is really excited about his xbox series s. I should have just been like yeah tell me more about the games you play but its actually just roblox and then I start to spiral.

I mean, Jak arguably handled revenge arcs and moral ambiguity better than TLOU2 lol. It had some morally gray characters like Praxis with interesting conflicts and outcomes. Jak himself was "tainted" by his 2 years of torture and experiments so he couldn't use the McGuffin anymore, which was an interesting touch for me back then. These games had some rough edges to them of course but overall there were more interesting things to them than anything TLOU related other than the ending of TLOU1 maybe.

I would be inclined to agree, however someone like this individual, kjngamer, leads me to believe there are some genuinely delusional adult Soynys out there.
He's been on Twitter for almost two years and racked up 17.4k tweets, basically all Sony related. I scrolled down through the more recent months but I'm hard pressed to find anything non-Sony related.
I don't believe that he's bot, as he has several pictures of himself on his profile, all of them of the same dude. Even his profile pic is of him standing next to Christopher Judge. He also has a few pictures of himself with his young son too. His house is completely filled with PlayStation stuff, to consoomer levels. As far as I know, he's not a content creator or anything, so he's legit just a straight up Soyny consoomer.
He typically likes to argue with Xbox players about how much more of a gamer he is compared to them due to his extremely high Trophy count. He seemingly considers having a very high Trophy count being a representative of how much of a gamer you are. Most of the accounts he "exposes" tends to be Xbox players with low gamerscore so he can "humiliate" them.
This is his PSNTrophies page. Despite him using trophies as a metric for being a "real gamer", he has failed to platinum, or at least get 80% of, half his catalog.
Now what concerns me the most is that he has a son, which he has pictures of on his account, which is whatever. But he also admits to having a relationship with multiple women simultaneously. Assuming he isn't lying, he has a child while engaging in multiple open relationships.

I'm surprised that he didn't play any Gran Turismo games, because people always associate GT with Sony players, in terms of racing games. Or are GT players on their own seperate autism bubble, seperate from the rest of the Soynys?

There's adults that are too young to have played a PS2 when it was current and also too young to remember how bad the PS3 launch was. This guy definitely isn't one of those.
