Sony hate thread

>pay $200 for a super-special ultra edition of Soyn games
>"lol no physical disc for you, have a digital download code instead!"
To be honest the game is such a heaping pile of shit that they're actually doing you a favor by not including it. At least you can use the lame toy hammer to repeatedly hit yourself over the head as a replacement for playing Ragnacuck.

Looking more into this kjngamer guy, he appears to also be engaging in drama regarding someone called Joshedits. It's a bit complicated, but as far as I can tell, it's a slapfight between him and Josh accusing one another of doxxing each other.

Josh thinks that kjngamer doxxed him by finding his second channel that had his face on it and is using alts to publicly shame with him, one of which being James, a similarly obnoxious Playstation fanboy. Josh also looks like a total freak.

Kjngamer meanwhile claims that Josh doxxed him and also insulted his family, including his daughter. Video from Josh's Twitter.

Considering so many people (in the hundreds of thousands or maybe even a million or two) bought the PS2 exclusively as a DVD player, I wonder how that effected Sony's income. Just buying a console and zero games for it in such large numbers would skew things quite a bit.
This is absolutely the case; that's why when it came to the PSP & the PS3, they were advertising them as the ultimate media boxes. Want to watch Spider-Man on the go? Get a PSP and buy the UMD. Want to watch Spider-Man on blu-ray? PS3 would be your bet.

That's why they bet big on Blu-Ray, you can make bank on royalty fees in the long run. They lost the prior physical media wars to VCR & DVD, they sure as shit wasn't going to lose the next the next one.

Even that “one or two million bought a PS2 for DVDs” figure is being extremely generous; it’s more like 10 million. It really cannot be understated how much of an advantage the PS2 got from being a cheap high-quality DVD player that can also play both old and new video games.

Hardware for this week is a familiar sight, but the numbers have increased slightly from last week, resulting in the Nintendo Switch exceeding 100,000 sales in one week across its three SKUs. Many folks were understandably concerned that the upcoming Switch successor would potentially harm Nintendo's holiday performance, and while total hardware sales are undoubtedly down as a whole, the company has to be satisfied with the numbers shown here. One last thing to mention is that the OG Switch has now sold over 20 million consoles in Japan. Pretty impressive!
that's over four times as many PS5s sold in Japan. LOL. LMAO even

The normies want, and I quote "a box that just plays all of my games. Why do I need a Playstation and an xbox when I just want to play cod or fifa? One box would be great".
COD or FIFA won't work, their garbage anticheat doesn't play well with Proton.
At least Xbox fans acknowledge how bad current Xbox is and wish for the good old days to return.
Most Xbox fans just buy the new Xbox for Game Pass, 360 game "backcompat", and praying for Xbox to be good again (spoiler, it won't)
Has anyone compared the PS5 Pro to a B580?
Decided to make a PCPartPicker build of a PS5 Pro killer becuase I was bored. Kinda scuffed, but it's like 50 dollars more than a PS5 Pro, which is a year's worth of PS Plus Essential either way.

What a glorious twist it would be if the saviour of gaming was Linux/Proton, whereby the normies stick to the WindowsBox to play COD and FIFA - essentially rendering normie-consoles as mobile-phone-style games with no substance and big gatcha, while the traditional, good games are exclusive to Linux/Steambox.

A man can dream.

I'm surprised that he didn't play any Gran Turismo games, because people always associate GT with Sony players, in terms of racing games. Or are GT players on their own seperate autism bubble, seperate from the rest of the Soynys?

He also Platinum'd Babylon's Fall, although I'm not sure if he only did it to do it before the game shut down:

GT is at this point genuinely it's own separate autism bubble, even worse than Sony fanboyism.

Don't get me started

I'd say it's already like that for old games that have been tweaked to work on modern systems by GoG. Lot of those games run fine under proton.

I saw this article on the BBC in regards to gaming in 2025

I'm not sure if it belongs here because of the PS5 name drop or the GTA thread, but here is a snippet:

Avoiding the juggernaut of GTA 6 will likely mean other publishers launch their new games early in the year or even hold them back to early 2026.

One more thing we do know is that the game will release first on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series consoles, with a PC release to follow later.

Many gamers are still sticking with their previous-generation machines, and Sony and Microsoft will be hoping GTA 6 will finally inspire them to upgrade.

"If anything is going to convince people to jump to a new console if they haven't already it's going to be GTA 6," says James, who estimates that PlayStation 4 users still count for 50% of Sony's active players.

But if we're talking hardware upgrades, there could be some competition.

50% of Sony's players still on PS4, in the fifth year of the gen, absolutely unheard of.

Sony are counting on GTA been popular enough software wise to sell consoles. R* are hoping console demand is high enough to make it profitable to sell GTA6 on.
I can't wait for the fallout in the industry when R* blames MS and Sony for failing to sell enough consoles, which caused them to miss their sales targets, and they have to; release for PC earlier than planned, and beg Nintendo to allow a Switch 2 and PS4 version :story:

Would RockStar or even Sony want a version of GTA 6 on PS4 considering it could become the worse version on both a visual and performance front?

Even with the PS4's install base, I don't think there is much of an incentive to port the game to hardware that is over a decade old, GTA 5 ran at 30 FPS with drops and it took 2 minutes to load on first boot. Running GTA 6 would be to much to ask. I'll imagine Sony would want to have GTA6 only on PS5 to spur Playtation players that want access day-one to take the plunge and upgrade. As for Xbox, I think RockStar already knows how dire is the situation for that platform and don't expect much from it, they'll put GTA6 on Series X/S as a formality to fulfill contractual obligations and that's about it.

PC is really the only long term platform where player numbers for GTA Online stay consistently high and generates the most profit for RockStar.

As for Switch 2, until we have solid confirmation on the specs, it is all conjecture.
