If the OP's mom is like most middle aged women and has intimate female friendships, she's probably hearing some really raw and rough stuff right now. The pooners put their mothers through the wringer. I keep thinking of a news story someone posted in A and H a few weeks ago, where a woman who had come to the USA as a refugee from the Bosnian civil war was speaking at a public meeting about schools trooning kids out behind the parents' backs. I'm plenty kind. Kind to a fault, even. I used to listen and believe and validate troons because I genuinely believed they were "born in the wrong body" and tried to empathize with how disorienting and horrible it would be if I were somehow swopped into a male body. I figured the poster was male from their words, and I know he‘s not a troon (yet?), but when I scrolled and saw this picture, my brain immediately said “MAN”. Even with a swollen arm and just a sliver of side showing, I could not help but figure this was a male.

That’s how futile “transition” is. If you can see any amount of the frame/skeleton, it’s over. I’d bet good money that most of us could tell from just a close-up of mere skin who was female and who was male with astonishing accuracy.

I'm not sure why this is but for as long as I can remember whenever I used to hangout with girls I felt like I sticked out like a sore thumb. I noticed that a lot of critiques of nonbinary people come from people who think its bad that some nonbinary people "show off their breasts" and accuse them of being trenders, why? Why is it bad to have larger breasts when your nonbinary and why is only being flat chested a valid way of being androgynous? I'm someone who was born with a larger chest and always got shit for it even when I was really young so seeing it happen in the community makes me feel guilty for not hating them as much as I should. I'm mostly fine with them and sure I wish I could have more binding options since finding binding stuff for bigger chests and can be a struggle.
