Arin Hanson / Egoraptor / Grump - "Hey I'm Grump!" of Game Grumps fame, hypocritical SJW doxer, shat himself recording a let's play

You're about to read the phrase "but people change tho" over and over again from people who still crucify Jontron for saying "retarded" that one time
What I've learned about these types of peoples is they will willingly accept everybody who is willing to parrot their beliefs, regardless of their past but the second they even consider stepping out of line all of their "problematic past statements" will come roaring back to the forefront as a cudgel to beat them into submission again.

Its what happened to H3H3 as of late. Which is why its just best to make content thats fun and enjoyable and not engage with parasocial faggots online.

Looks like we're getting a Game Grumps video from Joon the King around March
He doesn't pull any punches and will happily air out arin's dirty laundry on his channel with millions of views and he finally agreed to do it baby. I'd love to be a fly on the wall when the manchild finds out his true face is going to get exposed by a popular drama channel that won't kiss his ass and try to make him look better than he is. I also personally told him about the video breakdown of how shitty arin is that Spooky Weebtrash made so he could reference it and give her dead channel a surge of attention. (It's a good video but a long one. Good for idle listening and an excellent archive of arin and suzy both being irredeemable pieces of shit. Seriously though her video covers both of their entire online careers and bad doings, it's great. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l6bCk1Axt_4&t=1s)

there was this brilliant review of Good Game which got taken down due to backlash from Game Grumps fans (not LS Mark's that one sucked). I wish someone here archived it but the thread came out like a couple years after I watched it

This is the end result of a manchild with impossibly thin skin completely rejecting any kind of criticism and surrounding himself with yes men for over a decade.
And that's all after he abandoned his dreams. At some point, I think on GG but who knows (I'm probably outing myself as someone dumb enough not to have stopped watching right when Jon left), he said animation was never really a passion of his, he thought of himself more as a voice actor. I don't believe him. I think he cared a lot about animation, and had all kinds of opinions. But it's probably smart not to go into it, even when you have talent. It's always relied on slave labor with terrible economics, you could probably perfectly line up graphs of outsourcing of work like coloring to foreign studios, and use of migrant laborers for farm work; and then you make all your money on licensing even if you're lucky, selling out and slapping your most marketable character on a coffee mug. As I said, the smart money is not to go down that route for a career, and he would know better than any that keeping it up as a hobby is not for the lazy; voice acting keeps you in the game for way less commitment.

Likewise, he clearly has a passion for game design; the true love of his life is clearly the fucking intro to Megaman X. And he has some interesting points to make about it! When someone is telling you why they love some part of the design of a classic game, the enthusiasm is contagious; but when they pivot to telling you how a beloved, genre-defining sequel like Ocarina of Time is not their favorite in the series and start pulling it apart, they're going to have to expect a little more pushback. Well, who's to say what's right, some of it is a matter of taste! When Arin makes a game, everyone will get to see how good his grasp of game design actually is, and whatever the case he'll certainly learn some lessons for next time. But for Arin, even the pushback from a controversial video was too much, let alone having some other sperg make an hour long video saying the way he programmed his jump arcs is retarded. So instead of listening, refining his ideas, and getting a chance to test them some day, he just stops having opinions like that in public, and when it comes time to check off "make a game" from the bucket list, he's "publishing" a visual novel that's too ironic and purposefully half-assed to even support any kind of critique. With the built-in audience, it surely did incredibly well for...the kind of thing that it was. Another easy, and responsible, decision.

Of course, Arin doesn't need animation or game design, because he got in early on a much easier and more sensible career in let's plays. And he made his start with a cohost Jon with whom he shared what seemed like a genuine friendship all out in the open in front of the internet; having real interactions and sharing real feelings and opinions (of course with plenty of theatrics thrown in too) gained them plenty of fans. And every so often Arin would share one of these ideas with Jon, who would turn to Arin and say "Are you being serious?", and Arin would answer "Are you joking?", and then the comments could debate who was the bigger retard while loving them both for it. But we've already established that this kind of pushback is difficult for Arin; look what a bullet he dodged by cutting ties with Jon, who ended up REALLY getting some pushback on his ideas! Arin would never have been able to professionally navigate having his cohost make truly controversial statements, and maintain a friendship with him against public pressure, even when he personally may disagree on those issues. He made the psychologically easier and financially steadier decision over time to move towards a more checked out cohost, and a more broad, infantile, and parasocially-engaged audience, while perfecting the art of never challenging anyone's opinion, not even that of a gender-confused 12 year old who just learned their first swear word. And he's able to coast on the empire this has built him to this day!

So, Arin has made a lot of smart decisions, and saved himself a lot of trouble. He clearly has a good head on his shoulders, and the ethos with which he has chosen to approach his life shines through at every turn. He understands his limitations and chooses not to challenge them. I fully expect that at the end of his life Arin Hanson will look back on it all, and won't have a single regret.

Arin did have more passion for games and animation when he was younger, but clearly he became driven by finances. He does have cushy "job" where he sits around and jokes with friends all day. He must of dreamed of having that back when he was a struggling kid, so at least that aspect came true. The guy needs more drive and needs to put in more work. He could have built something larger with GG as a starting point.

I genuinely have no idea where anyone is getting this "sitting around and joking with friends" nonsense is coming from. The last time that genuinely happened was with Jon nearly a decade ago. Since then Arin has been sitting around and forcing his employees to laugh at his poop and fart jokes.

It's gotta be a hell of his own making. I remember before and during the Jon era they talked a ton of shit on let's players, and now not only is he one of them but it's very obviously for an audience of ten year olds. It's like setting out to make prog rock and ending up in The Wiggles. Except you didn't want to be a musician in the first place, you wanted to make movies, and set aside that dream to make prog rock and now you're a wiggle and you haven't worked on a film in ten years.

Though that's disingenuous I guess since we all know he only cared about animating insofar as it got him attention and he dropped it because he found a lower effort avenue for that. But still.

In the Anisa/Idubbbz thread Froggy Fresh's wife (Froggy was the disavowed fighter from Creator Clash 2) spilled the tea on the whole event. The reason I bring it up is she had a part where she meets everyone, and said that almost everybody, even Idubbbz, was very nice to her, except she had this say about a certain someone....
Arin, he was.. okay.
Reading that made me bust a gut laughing. There is not a single thing more apt for Arin Hanson than a friendly random women first meeting him and thinking he is, "uhhhhhh ok I guess."

Knowing idubbbz, he'll probably ban Egoraptor from the next Creator Clash because of this.

I find it funny that you can tell that Arin is having a midlife crisis about his legacy being the guy that says "poopy ass butt" while playing video games poorly. If I recall that sentiment was the exact reason Jontron wanted to leave Game Grumps.
This is made especially funny since when Jon was on they spent more time making actual jokes instead of just getting, "mad," at the game and talking about dicks way too much. I'm not gonna sit here and act like I can quote anything they said or did back in those days, though. Jon made the right call in all but the money making department. Even then, dude has to be doing well to be fine and only put out one video every time Pluto completes a trip around the sun.

How can you not remember Jon wanting to name the fans cumfaggots?
