Speaking of which, why do you, kiwis, watch or used to watch HH, HB or both?
Allow me to repost a post from over a year ago:
I've been skeptical of Hazbin since the beginning, because (to beat a dead horse) I had alrady been burned once by her with Zoophobia ,
AKA The Comic in Which the Character Who Has The Condition It Is Literally Named After Might As Well Not Exist With How Little She Affects The Plot.

I'll admit, a part of me was foolishly huffing the copium that Vivienne had somehow evolved past her old writing mishaps (hyperfocusing on daddy issues, a tendency to focus on the wrong characters, etc.). But that hopium was just that - hopium. She still is a shit writer - she's just a shit writer with an entire animation studio behind her now.

For me, it was because one of my classmates asked if I was interested in working for Spindlehorse. I heard about both HH and HB before then, but didn't really get into either show until I potentially had a chance to get a job there. After that, it was going down the rabbit hole of not only the shows production, but the people (mainly Viv) behind said production. So, if you want to thank anyone for finally getting me to make an account on here after lurking and becoming a regular poster for this thread, it should be towards that random individual that thought my side-step animation was really good.

It's seeming increasingly possible it ends up with a lolcow thread on Vivz herself.

It shouldn't be possible as it should've happened now. I considered doing it as her behavior is on the level of one. Also I'm pretty sure people are trolling her already.

I was recommended the pilot when it came out, and one of my longtime online friends liked/likes it, and I really vibed with the designs and concept at the time. Same for Helluva Boss. I don’t remember why I fell off them, probably out of laziness, and I barely even remember how I rediscovered it and realized it was gonna be dogshit. It was either this thread, tumblr, YouTube, or Vivzie’s infamous tweets about reclaiming Hell.
God, I still have fanart of Alastor somewhere out there, and I was proud of that shit…

I still think the show peaked at Harvest Moon and Truth Seekers, after season 2 came out, and that was when it tuned to shit.
The series were moderately good all the way through the pilot and the first six episodes, in my opinion - the last episode of season 7 was when it started to fall apart, mainly by emphasizing too much on the relationship between Blitz and Stolas: the van scene felt too dramatic and out of touch and I don’t think it has much to do with moving away from the more raunchy mood and giving characters more development - the show did a great job fleshing out Blitz and Moxxie in Truth Seekers and frankly that was the only time they’ve managed to do it well and in the style appropriate for this show.

Season 2 was not that funny and was way too centred on the characters and their existential crisis and episode 8 of season 1 was an out-of-season April Fools’ joke to bait everyone into thinking that the show is being produced by shameless furries who like self-inserts that hang out in the gluttony ring, because all furries have eating disorders and are into vore or fat fetish, and it never happened.

I also gave the show a lot of credit after my best friend, who doesn’t like cartoons at all, was recommended to watch it - we’ve binged the first season in one sitting and he absolutely loved it. He loved Blitz’s snarky attitude and the show’s hyperactive pacing, as well as the premise of the show being a satire for humanity’s hypocrisy. He also liked Verosika and hated Stolas.

I’ve been watching both shows for the visual aesthetic appeal, as someone who grew up in a social circle of web artist personalities and was heavily exposed to plenty of unhinged over-the-top cartoons. It’s obvious in Vivziepop’s works that she went through the same experience while growing up. Those slender character designs are possibly the largest guilty pleasure of mine and I usually can’t help myself but to fall for their artistic appearance, regardless of their personality characteristics and how terribly written they are. Heck, I used to like Stolas’s design so much when season one was already going that I used to have him on my wallpaper for sometime (it was a cool artwork, so shut up).
I watch HH and HB as a guilty pleasure... That and I'm a messy bitch who loves drama.

I'm in the same boat, though i never knew of the people behind such familiar designs/styles, I always enjoyed how elegant and detailed some were. Viv is someone I wouldn't ever want to encounter--online or IRL--but her style definitely has charm and is enjoyable. If only she simply gave the writing to more competent people.

It's odd too...why isn't there any official figures? Even though most of the characters fall flat or are just plain hateable now, surely one could still capitalize off their designs. Like McFarlane or NECA figures. Seems a waste to not to imo. I want to make Octavia and her parents a regular flawed but well meaning and loving nuclear family via toy photography sue me

Honestly, I'd say she already ain't doing hot on numbers. Like, the latest ep got at the moment to 9.7 million and been up for 4 days, Digital Circus ep 4 already is at 50 mil being up for 10 days. Now, both shows are different in terms of story, characters and so forth, but it kinda says something when this show is already kicking Viv's ass harder.
Part of that could be because Digital Circus is newer, so it's more fresh in peoples minds. But I also think Digital Circus is just a genuinely better show, in more ways than one.

Few things as frustrating as an author ignoring his own world building to push his agenda.

Yeah, after a few decades of horror stories about fathers abandoning their wives and children to go live a homosexual lifestyle, or fathers trooning out and the resulting drama that comes with it, it's both hilarious and infuriating that some fujoshi animator/director would unironically say, "That's good, actually."

Though I might add, it's quite refreshing for such handmaidens or Slaaneshi cultists to be honest about the joy they get in destroying intact families.

omfg i can't believe alastor is canonically buck broken

It is accurate to Abrahamic theology tho. Satan or other demons being creatures who fancy themselves badasses. Even has a bunch of followers (ironic or not), or at least those who chase after pagan gods, thinking that they're badass and edgy for doing so.

But in the end, being ginormous pussies and emo kids who God got so fed up with He literally booted them from the house.

Some fellas had fun with that, claiming that Alastor is a steer with Rosie tormenting him by loudly having sex with people he hates, making him act as a butler by bringing refreshments during breaks, and deriding his lack of sexual prowess. Which she is responsible for in the first place by castrating him as soon as he arrived in Hell.

Degenerate? Sure, but it couldn't happen to a nicer guy.

I will forgive viv everything if this is true.

I am however not excited for the fandom to depict Alastor as a sad asexual princess on a leash. But I think it's better than "SMART, CUNNING, SCHEMING, MOST POWERFUL SCARY OVERLORD, WHO IS SO POWERFUL HE CAN BEAT UP EVEN LUCIFER, AND THEN THE GOD HIMSELF".

I hope his character will end up being a dumb, overconfident and emotional man with a superiority complex. Him getting his fuckass stick broken was very funny.

Leak spoiler: And the temper tantrum he throws at Lucifer after, that was hilarious. With a broken ass stick in hand too. "That's it! I quit!" lol calm down

He's my favourite character btw, but if my vision proves to be correct.

I hated HH for a long time but got interested in HB because of the spring break thumbnail. It looked interesting and Verosika was attractive, so I watched that episode and went back to the pilot to catch up to it. It was funny, well animated/fully animated, the songs were great, and it had real-ass voice actors on an INTERNET ANIMATION??? idk, it surprised me and exceeded my expectations. It wasn't the usual half-animatic beanmouth project that never updates (cough cough Welcome to Hell) and it already had a lot of people who liked it, including friends of mine, so it was easy to start watching it and already have friends who I could talk to about it.

I still plan on watching it, and HH, because I've already come this far and I do admittedly like the gay relationship drama, but I'm still disappointed at the wasted potential. One thing that still sticks out to me, how the hell did Vivziepop get people like Richard Horvitz and Parry Gripp out of nowhere like that? Was Zoophobia really that popular? Is she a nepo baby or something?

I have a lot in common with Vivzie. We are both cartoonists from the same age group with similar influences and interests, yet we're completely different. I am, with fascination, watching her projects fly by the seat of their pants as they pander to an insatiable audience of pissbabies that she's (for some reason) desperate to keep. I have a dual respect and disgust. It makes me question what I value in storytelling and why I wanted to be a cartoonist in the first place. Do I want to create for myself? Or a captive audience with more money than sense? My morbid curiosity and bewilderment keeps me coming back for more. I wonder what the future holds in the next 10-20 years and I want to see it unfold in real-time.

If this random anon on Tumblr is telling the truth, the latter.
