The nanny wasn't live-in. She was there for 5-6years, which suggests she wasn't around prior to the purchase of the current house. From what Aaron has said, she mostly ferried the kids around. She probably helped them with school work and stuff, too.

Aaron described the state of the house when he was there and it was much worse than it could have become in a couple of months if she'd previously been doing the cleaning (and much worse than just messy). Nick has spoken about the kids eating fast food because they don't like normal food, so it's very possible the nanny was responsible for the fast food runs.

Nick has a half sister who lives in Nicaragua. Nick is one of six Owen grandchildren (the grandparents are dead). The "legacy" is on Nick's mother's side of the family, not the Rekieta side.

For the kids I'd honestly hope for them to actually lose the house and moving to a place (owned by Nick's parents) closer to parental supervision, walking distance to a school so the kids can actually socialize properly. Home schooling is a scam and they would be much better off not being taught by the pill fiend.

Nick's parents own a house in the area but they don't live there. Any possible "parental supervision" would be from Kayla's family and Nick is estranged from them (as, it seems, is Kayla now given that no-one from her family showed up for her recent court appearance and messages were left for her from her family on her social media accounts).

Yeah it comes down to money. The more parental rights a parent is stripped of, the higher the likelihood that upon the death of the other parent could lead to the kid or kids ending up on the government dime in foster care. States hate this.

This is why when you hear these sob stories of completely innocent parents having their kids cruelly taken away, typically, you aren't hearing the whole story at all.
