He lost that license and it wont be easy to get back.
It is extremely simple to get reinstated to active/authorized after getting smited smote for CLE deficiencies*, as has been stated many times. He needs to take some classes/report them and pay some money now owing (penalty, reinstatement fees) due to being a dumbass and not reporting on time.

* it is also possible and very simple to ask for an extension and thereby avoid the ignominy of losing good standing:
Why Request an Extension? If a lawyer cannot finish the CLE courses before the August 31 deadline, the lawyer should ask for an extension. If you have an extension, the CLE office staff marks your record to show that you intend to comply by a certain date. You will still owe a $75 late fee. But if you have been given an extension, your license will stay in good standing during the extension period.

And for the record, he was due to complete CLE by 6/30. You then have until 8/31 to report (and you can take classes 6/30 - 8/31 if needed, without penalty). We are 4 months past that - 6 months past when it should have been completed.

You report CLE on the very same site page as you pay registration fees. He bothered to go on that site very recently because he paid his registration fees after getting dinged for missing that deadline. That he did not then get on a stick to get some classes in is astounding.

And btw, registration fees are reduced for lawyers making under $50k. Just in case the trust isn't rolling.
  • Admits to the over-spending leading to the foreclosure: "...how you live consummate to your means...People make more money and they still don't have money because they start spending more."
Consummate? Consummate? Did he really say that? Because that is not what that word means*, and I am getting tired of his shit grammar and vocabulary.

*(as an adjective, it means something akin to being the epitome or ultimate embodiment of). The word he meant is commensurate. And it's really not a great choice in this context. Plus the following preposition is with, not to.

God damn it! Ninjaed by everybody. Stupid work getting in the way of criticizing Nick Rekieta, gosh.

Aaron's a gay egoist. Aaron didn't make Nick start spending 20k a month on drugs, Aaron didn't make Nick give up on lawtubing and replace it with his unprofitable sex streams, Aaron didn't make Nick defame monty and then hire the most expensive attorney possible.

Nick was the cause of his downfall. Aaron was a part of it, but implying it all came crumbling down because of Aaron is gay, sad, and retarded.

He also mentioned that he estimated a 7 person household would probably cost "around $15k monthly" which sounds excessively high.
I don't think that's that high. Well, not if you pay your mortgage, property taxes, bar and CLE fees, etc....

If there's one thing I've learned from this forum it's that reality doesn't have to be believable like fiction does. Time and time again we have seen lolcows, real people, make the most retarded decisions possible. It's unbelievable but it all really happened.
Fiction is just a way of writing reality into something that sounds believable.

Yeah, the verb form has way more potential

@Shig O'nella not when you’re giving your eight year old cocaine as a snack, though. See? Nick outsmarted us

Nick was open at the time about the fact that what he wanted to sell his house to Aaron for was the infamous house extension, not the mortgage on the house. If Aaron had bought the house Nick would have spent all the money before Nick realized that he had to keep paying his mortgage to keep his house.

Aaron Update. Show is happening now. I'm sure it will be clipped but he starts on this about 20 min. into it.

On the foreclosure, speaking in 3rd person in a purposely self-important manner (he thinks he's being funny):

"Aaron is the man who killed the Rekieta empire!"

Aaron goes into detail about Nick's efforts to get him to buy the 2nd home:

- They toured the home and Nick sold him hard on what a good deal it would be.
- Aaron claimed that Nick offered $350K for a home worth $450K. Those were the numbers Nick used.
- Nick pressed hard citing the lack of a realtor commission, and transaction costs.
- Aaron claimed that he never seriously considered it bc his kids had no interest in moving and his marriage with April was on the rocks.*
- Aaron now realizes that the $350K would have solved all of Nick's financial problems.

*I call a bit of bullshit on this one. Ashley could contest it (and we know she would). In 50/50 custody (Aaron and Ashley's agreement), the Court must approve a move over 50 miles in MN. Distance bw St. Cloud and Spicer is just over 50 miles.

I believe this story aside from what I noted.
Edit: ETA - See below for clip.
Stopped paying in December 2023. Bought cocaine into May...

Nick really couldn't make a few mortgage payments in a year? It still seems so bizarre to me. The mortgage payment had to be one of his lowest expenses. Why not just sell his muscle car? The clown was driving it after his arrest.

All of this is still sounding so messed up. I just still don't understand the thought process. I'm not particularly convinced Nick was planning to use the house sale money to pay off the mortgage. Why would he?

How those kids aren't perfectly spherical with that snack budget is beyond me.
Maybe the racoons got to it?

Its no different than Nick not paying traffic tickets or getting car insurance or getting his car registered or paying his first half property taxes or clean the house or do laundry. The guy has the mentality of a baby and can't deal with the responsibilities of the adult world. As he told us at the time......he was just so very busy. It was all the kids fault.

It's contradicted by Nick explicitly saying at the time Aaron now says Nick was trying to sell Aaron the house that he was trying to get the funds needed to pay for his much talked about house extension.

This goes back to Aaron wanting to believe he was being offered an amazing deal by Nick to buy the home instead of him almost getting roped into doing something very stupid. He was visibly disappointed when people reacted negatively to the state of the home and the Silent Hill plumbing.

I'm not even convinced his goal in selling the house now is to pay for the mortgage, if lack of funds was the problem he could have done his show more than 0 times in the past 4+ months, that may have helped.

Yes. The monthly mortgage amount was easily achievable even while being a lolcow.

That foreclosure needs to have a degree of "fuck everything" behind it. It has to have been willful and he had to have ignored multiple warnings.

There is more to this than just running low on money. Guy was sending 100 dollar superchats while not paying his mortgage.

Van life arc? Rekieta uses what little money he has left to buy an RV / some kind of van and tries to get the family to come with him in it and tries to do a documentary style thing like Youtube was pushing a few years ago to try and get people to live like mobile bugs.
It'll never happen but its funny to think about Rekieta fucking it up and getting just a rusting white cargo van with a mattress in back and a bunch of empty alcohol bottles scattered around with a shitty phone to record himself.
Trying to get people to donate talking about their dead family members so he can do a sloshed toast to them from it.
Honestly, this kind of junkie IRL streaming is the only way I see him making any money streaming in the future. The old paypigs are all gone at this point, but there's always people willing to throw a few coins at crazy homeless people dancing for their amusement.

Maybe not enough for Whistlepig and the finest Bolivian snow, but certainly enough to keep him in stocks with Johnnie Walker Red and lidocane-cut cheap Mexican blow.

I think the verdict is 50/50 between hin being wilfully ignorant of the repayments, or attempting some hairbrained scheme where he somehow gets the debt wiped. I'm personally hoping for the latter because I can't wait to see what bullshit this non-practicing, non-lawyer has cooked up.

He's an lolcow for a reason. We're arguing Jersey or Guernsey milk cow.

CLE's been discussed many times. In MN, 45 hours every 3 years, of which 1 must be mental health (new req), a couple have to be ethics, and a couple must be elimination of bias. You can of course take more than the minimums, but overages don't carry over into the next reporting period.
No carry over? Fuck that noise.

There's also the possibility that Rekieta WANTS the house foreclosed because he is trying to get rid of any ties he has with Minnesota as some sort of 4D chess move which will fail.
After giving myself brain damage and putting on my tin-foil hat, I could think of one possible reason why Nick would deliberately either be indifferent to the house being foreclosed upon or intentionally causing the house to be foreclosed: to get the liquid cash value of the house.

Imagine for instance you are the unworthy inheritor of a wealthy oil executive that receives a modest payout per month from your trust fund. Because you enjoy the finer things in life, you are constantly cash-poor, although your cost of living remains subsidized through your trust fund. However, your mother gets a major windfall once your wealthy oil grandparents die.

Your bitch mother hoards all the wealth to herself because she wants you to "be responsible" and "get a real job" which is for NERDS. However, because she loves her grandchildren and maybe you as well, she offers to purchase the house outright through a trust for your benefit (which of course you lie about because you tell the public you are a self-made man instead of a bitch-made leech). That's $800K in pure liquid cash right there. However, it is tantalizingly out of reach for an unworthy inheritor such as yourself and you cannot use it to buy cocaine. There may be something in the structure of the trust that prevents you from selling the house within a certain time period, or prevents you from being the beneficiary of a voluntary sale, or otherwise it would be bad optically for your mommy if you turned around and sold it to pay for drugs. Your mommy has anticipated that you are a bad seed and has tied your hands in some way. In any case, you cannot willfully sell the house without losing that sweet, sweet $800K that the house is worth.

Deciding you need more liquid to fund your extravagant lifestyle of cocaine and hookers, you decide to take a loan against the house in the amount of ~350K. That's pure liquid for you to spend. However, because you never actually paid the money to purchase the house, it does not matter to you whether it not it gets foreclosed upon. Actually, it would be a benefit to you for the house to be foreclosed upon, because upon the foreclosure sale, you would gain access to the whatever money remains after the bank takes it cut. That in effect would net you the entire value of the house in pure liquid cash.

So you just immediately default so the interest does not grow out of control. In effect, you would receive the liquid you couldn't otherwise obtain through selling the house. You just tell mommy that you've had a run of bad luck and got behind on the mortgage, so she won't bogart the money from the foreclosure sale or enforce the provisions of the trust that prevent you from conveying the house. You scream tips are TAX FREE BISH and run off to LA to snort coke with Dax Herrera.
