I am honestly being objective when I say this as when Elon purchased Twitter I was at the time an BIG Elon fan, but in all honesty it got bad pretty darn fast, and it wasn't that content swayed one way or another, it just got very loud, very aggressive and well, sort of just "mad" quickly.
Unless he gets rid of the engagement farm accounts with premium getting auto-promoted to the top of the feed, there's no fixing Twitter. They literally have accounts for every interest/niche possible and are ready to flood the site with stolen content with a stake watermark.
Twitter had already gotten unbearable post 2016 as did much of social media. I just can't see unless you were in politics specific circles or amongst Twitter artists (what's the difference) that you'd be able to tell it got a little louder after Elon. Of course things will be more of a sperg fest after the leadership change but it won't last. The left will scream about losing out and the right will mock them, but the excitement can't last. I'll give Dorsey he was relatively quiet on his own account, but he still had, or the people he hired had free reign to force things to be far left leaning, and they barely did anything outside of political reasons to keep real bad shit off of it. All that really happened is the 'side' flipped and autistic psuedo-trump took over.

Elon has implemented so many shitty policies at twitter, removing the ability to see who likes a tweet is something a kiwifarms user should lament given all the hilarious shit that has come out. Ted Cruz liking porn on his official account comes to me off the top of my head. The people who get amplified by the algorithm has always been shit and engagement baiting is rampant but I dont think anyone can argue that since Elon has taken control a bunch of retarded policies and changes to the way the site works have happened. I cant help but beleive that all the shitty changes have been directly his fault because it echoes his dumb bullshit like the cave sub that was supposed to rescue those kids and all the stories about engineers at his own companies dreading his input.
I don't see the correlation, when you already had competing services like Youtube removing likes/dislikes having any meaning beforehand. Deleting people's ability to see what someone has liked seems to be in line with that kind of silicon valley techbro retard decision, plenty of which Dorsey and his crew had already put into action. Not that Elon's not a retard for continuing that path, I just don't think it was indeed his idea. And for the bad ones, community notes has been entertaining even if it's not particularly useful. Now that I can see being his suggestion.

The discussion has been had ad nauseam in the auto threads but yeah, all the needless complexity is why a modern car - maybe anything with an 'infotainment' system, will never be desirable for me. It's horrifying to imagine not knowing where the manual door handle on your car is... Similarly, if I drive my car into a lake I'd like to be able to immediately wind down the window with a simple lever. Null had a good point on a recent MATI that there is probably a high market demand for a 'prepper' vehicle. The economics might not work but a modern vehicle that you can at least maintain yourself with minimal know how sure would be nice.
Pretty soon the "Digital Town Square" will be comprised solely of Elon's paypigs.
