Reminder that posting the personal info of a hot dog vendor, harassing him on social media (and his family), trying to harm his business by posting fake yelp reviews, all of this was deemed acceptable behavior by SA. Lowtax himself approved it in posts on the forums. But reposting info that these idiots have willingly posted online? Hey, now, that's crossing a line....

Weirdly enough, they tried to do the same thing at one point to the big megathread thread making fun of the Xbox One. Even down to BBG and a bunch of other garbage all showing up at once to try and shitpost it to death. But that thread was filled with so many shitposters already that it survived. Then it got moved to some posting ghetto subforum, I forget where. I think it's still alive. But that was always fucking weird to me. Who would even care about that thread enough to try and kill it? I guess ZDR must have had a hard on for the Xbone for a week or something.

For what it's worth, most of the current mod-controlled shitposters including Goku aren't really FYADs, they're from Imp Zone, which is like a mini-FYAD atatched to the videogame forum. So even more pathetic. FYAD is kind of dying and quiet these days.

They've pulled this shit so many times now. I remember the trouble they went to to get rid of YCS, imp zone's predecessor. They hid it from the menus so you had to get to it by its forumid, they made it so everyone who posted there had a chance to get 'forums cancer' which replaced your avatar and let admins fuck with you more freely.

They're just banning people in a wide swath, as far as I can tell people who've browsed any of the threads about the doxing stuff, and even some of the people who got doxed.

They will absolutely ban all posters that admit that. That's been the case with SS since basically the beginning. I (now) have accounts with everybody, but they're all different names and such.

Star Citizen is a space sim game in development where backers have spent over 141 MILLION dollars on it so far even though it's in alpha with basically tech demos, they make money mostly by selling in game ships, the initial goal was $2 million.

At first they initially sold in game ships with a backer exclusive unlimited in game insurance (These ships can be up to $3000, a false scarcity was also created), the creator said the idea is in game insurance will be minimal (And paid with currency made in game) and so it's only a minor perk (Although ships can be permanently lost without insurance) but that didn't stop an active grey market arising where the ships were being sold at a huge profit (100%-1000%), after a while the game creators decided "Oh wait, maybe we'll bring back that life time insurance for special events ;)" which cause a backlash but people still kept backing and later they added extra "limited time" add ons and I've not really paid attention for a while but it still keeps making money despite delays.

Tl;dr If it fails it'll be one of the biggest gaming dramas of all time .

There was definitely a quote from Lowtax, I remember it well, where he said he was OK with people harassing Doobie's family. I dunno if I plan on buying my account back, but I may be able to find it elsewhere... to be fair, I think he was half-joking or just trying to be a wise-ass. But he definitely posted it. It was in one of the Doobie threads. People were posting pics of Doobie's kids from his facebook or something, and there was some debate over whether that was cool.

Frankly I don't have any idea. I've never had anything to do with that bunch. I'm just kind of going off the SA trend of a tiny minority of posters having a ton of power over forum discussion and control over bans and stuff. Basically, a really loud ass tiny group. I figure there can't be that many.
