I am personally arguing that we refrain from distinguishing our investigative journalism from the opposition's investigative journalism.

I 100% agree with this. Much of what we do here is basically Journalism. An actual 'journalist' wouldn't say in their article about someone "I doxed this faggot here is his address:" they would simply say "John Smith lives at 123 Elm st."
There's no need for a special term, simply report on the information that you find.

I don't understand the need for a term. If a 'dox' is someones address and phone number, just call it their address and phone number.

Dossier isn't bad actually. Maybe the verb should be archive, and the noun should be dossier.

411 is a really bad synonym because it's difficult to know what it means at a glance, anyone would just look up what it means and just think "oh it's code for doxing". It comes across as if the term is being hidden, that would be a bad look.

That's a good point. If the goal is to shine a light that they are doing the same thing and villanizing the forum when they practice the same behavior then we need to mirror their term to maximize this effect. Because there literally is no difference between the two and it will make it all the more obvious to people who are 3rd parties in this. I was in favor of deetz before, but I am reconsidering my position.
