Nick does not have the capacity to go back from this. At his height, he was living a lie to get attention and got bored with it because narcs often seem to become dopamine addicts sooner or later. He finally succumbed to the narc thought pattern that any attention is good attention, and negative attention requires much less effort to get than positive attention.

I commented about narc rehabilitative prospects in the Russell Greer thread earlier today.

Definitely there is a spectrum of narcissistic tendencies all the way to clinical narcissism, and then there are gradations of clinical narcissists.

Personally, I think Nick is clinically a narcissist. Mid/moderate-level.

Clinical narcs can learn, if they choose (lol, don't trust it), to mimic normal human perspectives. This requires acknowledging that their deepest views are wrong thwarting their goals, and doing things they don't believe are correct bc they intellectually understand that their natural perspective is fucked up and causes harm to themselves (and others but that's not among their natural concerns) - & that their life is better by behaving differently.

Very rare, usually only occurs after they are dramatically humiliated and humbled, in danger of losing everything...if ever. To sustain the imitation, they will have to constantly rely on someone to tell them what to do and to practice making non-intutive non-harmful choices. They are still a narc, and they will never have a solid moral compass, but they can work on taking action to override their natural drive. Very few ever even attempt it (though many fake it/perform it very short-term).

I knew two sisters. Both were serious narcissists. Both had BPD. The older of the two had the more severe manifestation. She ended up serving a long prison sentence because she set one of her neighbours houses on fire. Neighbour was an old lady. She didn't die, but she did suffer serious smoke inhalation and probably had her life shortened. After they arrested her, they found a pattern of arson that followed her around. They'd never noticed it until they jailed her for trying to kill her neighbour.

The younger sister was terrified of her. I didn't even know she had an older sister until she told me she was being released from prison. She was able to manage her issues sufficiently that she didn't go around burning people's houses down while they were asleep in bed, but she wasn't able to sustain relationships at all. It was really kind of sad, because she was very funny, could be kind, charming and was highly intelligent, but when her insecurities struck her, she was completely insufferable. I cut her out of my life multiple times, and she'd work on behaving like a normal human for a while, and win me over again. Ultimately though, she had to go. Like her older sister, every problem was always caused by somebody else, She never did anything wrong. But she'd get hysterically angry with people over things that seemed utterly trivial -- perhaps even non-existant. But they were always about percieved slights of some kind.

I always assumed it had something to do with their upbringing. I'm pretty sure they were raised by their mother and she was cut from the same cloth. The youngest daughter -- who was in and out of my life for about ten years -- never really talked about her at all. She left the family home at 17 or 18 and never went back again.

Last night proved to me that Nick will have a medium-successful comeback. This is a counter view to many people here who enjoy the "it's never been so over' refrain. That's a fine perspective, and often funny. I just don't think it's accurate.

The instinctive love for him from a few dozen people last night was unsurprising.

I'm not going to write a long defense of my view bc time will prove the answer but the short argument:

• No one ever gets canceled unless they cancel themselves
• Americans love a comeback
• Nick has among the most loyal fanbases around. His Locals subs proved it. Many will be back.
• The political mood supports it. See Trump's comeback. Like Trump, Nick is something of a trustfund populist that people love despite their better instincts.
• Nick's always possessed self-deprecating humor (that hides a gigantic ego until it doesn't). That serves a comeback mission well.
• Nick's not Ralph despite the many parallels.

Instead of Ralph, a more accurate parallel might be Destiny. Besides looks, they share a fiercely loyal fanbase, edgelord history (sort of), sexual scandals, sexual orientation issues, and known drug abuse. (I'd also argue that they both hate women but that's another issue.)

Destiny rides out his scandals with honesty about his vices and a good work ethic. Nick can easily achieve the former. It's the latter that's in question.

nick isnt particularly funny, interesting, well educated, intelligent, or experienced enough to outperform all the other law channels, that dont have the massive scandals attached to their name. He only got so big by complete luck. 2 once-in-a-generation cases back to back, prior to lawtube being founded as it is now, with dozens of different lawyers on as guests. Even if you dont follow or have even heard about his drama (unlikely if you follow other lawtubers, and if you havent then you probably just followed him for those few interesting cases anyway), Nick doesnt offer anything unique or interesting that other lawtubers dont already do.

IF he comes back to streaming, itll be to a dwindling locals audience that cant expand because if he streams on an unmoderated platform he'll get completely fucking toasted. People really hate child abusers, even the vaguest hint that you are one is a stink that never goes away and fills a whole room with ease. Nick isnt going to be allowed to the party anywhere else either. Anyone that would have been on his side with an audience, he alienated by being a complete retard and by not shutting up when he got arrested.

What I want to know is what he is using to drive the a18s. I highly doubt it is sufficient enough, or anywhere close to revealing how good those IEMs are. That level of IEMs you need a very nice DAC/AMP setup to take advantage of the detail. He probably just has them plugged into his audio mixer or something, they should really have a dedicated setup.

The impedance of the a18s is 8 ohms so he can drive them with just about anything, but you're right. Unless he's got a quality DAC and lossless recordings in FLAC, ALAC or WAV formats he wont really be utilizing them to their full extent.

That being said, im sure with 18 fucking drivers they sound REAL nice. Makes me wonder if anyone has had the idea to make a similar headset with independent drives and control over each one so that you can tweak the response and level of each 'speaker' to taste.

Anyway, audiosperging aside, he's still a retard and I'm looking forward to buying those a18s at the inevitable bankruptcy auction for a fraction of the price.
