Having said that, I am sticking to my guns on a couple things, mainly the QTEs fucking suck and I'd still like to be able to strafe, but I can live with being planted to the ground when shooting.

Get the HD upgrade mod (RE4 HD Project), it fixes everything, including the QTEs (you can disable them). That's how I played RE4 on Steam.

RE4 is the greatest game of all time by a hefty margin in my opinion. Basically perfect, Dead Space 2 was the only thing that ever truly came close to it. For the people who hate tank controls you'll probably like DS2

Dead Space was also good but DS2 was a massive improvement. What I've played of Dead Space Remake was also good and I'd recommend it over the original, at least on PC, because the original is unplayable due to technical issues

I, too, seethed about re5 when it first came out. You're right - it's ok. Doesn't deserve mouth foaming nerd rage but isn't that great, either.

The setting was pretty fun for purely racism lulz purposes .

Supposedly it is fun as shit in multiplayer, though. I reckon the whole game was designed around it due to the whole 2010ish era co-op fixation.

I hated RE5 at first too but couch coop with the better half turned it around for me. Plus Wesker cheese.

RE6 though can go to Hell.

its a shame you only unlock it after you beat the game so you never really get to see it unless you really want to play the game again on a harder difficulty

I read if you try to look up her skirt like in GC it doesn't let you. It's a minor issue but still.

it is technically censorship but it just plays an animation wear she covers herself, its not a black abyss down there like how most games censor it
in my opinion i dont mind it since it adds to the character while also serving a purpose even if that purpose is pointless since theres literally cutscenes for when you catch ashely from a fall that shows her pantys very clearly
i guess the japs just couldnt live with themselves if they censored her that hard

Same here, but even after making my peace with RE4 I think RE5 is still my favourite RE game to replay casually. RE4 is the better game overall by a wide margin, but RE5 has far less of the minor annoyances that drag down the playthrough, and most of the ones that are there are easy to deal with when you know in advance.

Both sections of the final Wesker fight are absolute garbage though (except boulder punch), and the 'fight' with Jill sucks because AI Shiva is absolutely useless regardless of which role you give her.

Yeah, that is too bad. I like unlockables but I rarely replay many games, especially all the way through. I'd rather just be able to use stuff right away.

It's definitely pretty minimal, but in principle I hate it. It's not like I'm gonna be jacking off to PS2 game models for fuck's sake, it's just funny to do.
