I used to tutor new freshmen at my college when they got placed in remedial English rather than Introduction to College Writing. Their most common ego balm seemed to be, "I don't get it. I got all As in/was in AP English."

I don't know how long he'll keep his sponsors, but his livestream viewership is slacking off compared to when he was covering things from his home in Europe. Also worth noting, he can't cover election returns or other live events without passing out or deleting the blog when he wakes up the next day, whereas he used to do great at those and draw tens of thousands and even sometimes hundreds of thousands of views.

Note, too, all the promises of live streams that he reneges on.

Viewership is also markedly down from his happy days of domesticity, and way, way down from his analysis of 2016.

He's very ill and is phoning it all in, now. The people left on his livestream are apparently happy to pay him to read things, shout people out, and apparently at least a little satisfied with his thoughtless answers as he takes superchats and nurses a hangover, jonesing for that first tumbler of hair of the dog.

Even if the timing matched up, the probability that he actually did anything in person would have to be way, way lower than him ordering a hit, and the probability of that would have to be way, way lower than the probability that he did some kind of ritual. So no, he probably didn't murder the assistant DA, unless you count doing magic as being an accessory to murder. Which would be very old-fashioned of you, now wouldn't it. Can't have that in current year. Shun the witch-burners! Also no witnesses, lack of evidence, unreliable narrator, etc. Who knows? It's the perfect crime.

I bet he asked for some kind of harm to befall his enemies, instead asking (or intending or whatever) for anything that would actually help his case or get him out of whatever trouble he's in.
