How does the SuperWhoLock crazies fit into all of this? Or is that a completely different strand of crazy?
SuperWhoLock hasn't been a thing for a few years now. It pretty much died off when Peter Capaldi became the Twelfth Doctor, fandom as a whole finally began to experience Cumberbatch Burnout around the time of Star Trek Into Darkness, and Supernatural did... whatever it is that Supernatural does to piss people off on a routine basis. There was an Avengers aspect to it, but that fucked off after The Winter Soldier. Probably for the best Doctor Strange came out when it did, IMHO, as both Martin Freeman and Cumberbatch are now in the MCU, albeit in different movies and spaces.
Most of the Superwholocks all fucked off into the four corners of the internet not long after, though some moved on like parasites to Star Wars, and subsequently, the Kylo Ren/General Hux ship, all while trying to ship Poe and Finn alongside to shield themselves from accusations of racism and failing miserably in the eyes of Tumblr.
As a recovering Superwholockian - these are the WORST ones.
edited to add: most of the Superwholocks started as Sherlock fans or Doctor Who fans and migrated from one to the other. But pretty much the end result of too much fucking tumblr and no sense of reality to speak of. I'm still trying to figure out how Supernatural got thrown in there, but rest assured, it had to be a Sherlock fan being a dipshit.
Supernatural was a huge Tumblr juggernaut back in the day, so anything remotely popular got sucked into its puckered anus of a fandom vortex whether the non-SPN fans wanted it or not.
