Live updates: Brush fire burns in Pacific Palisades as Santa Ana winds blast Southern California - Live video at link

Only in areas that have been doing appropriate land management. A lot of places go up like steel wool on a 9v because of short sighted fire prevention, so that when a fire does start, the fires burn more intensely than the ecosystem is adapted for.
after the gatlinburg fire there were some areas that burned so hot that it killed the soil. its taken a long time for those areas to start to regrow.

Wishing fire death on fellow Americans is
Quite sick. I never felt anyone particularly should die in a hurricane; drown trying to survive or be burnt to death. Seeing people come into the thread and give thanks to the destruction is pretty sick.
And did you expect anything else?
I'm tired of faggots seeking attention and saying the same stupid shit. All it achieves is someone replying saying "Yeah I wish Californians died in a fire and you can suck it."
And the same pointless posts repeat 10x over.
Instead of saying the same spergout producing post you could offer your thoughts and prayers instead.

It's corrosive in all the pipes, pumps, and machinery you'd have to use to put it into hoses or some usable form. They use it in plane drops and that's as good as it can be. It's not about the corroding property or structures, it's about the corrosion of equipment necessary to make it work.
Nah! For short term emergency use you can run it through modern fire pumps without any issues. So long as you flush it all out with fresh water afterwards. Any coastal fire department can and will do it. They just mostly don't because its a pain in the ass unless they have something like a Fireboat tied up pier side as the first pump. The problem is you can only draft or suck water up 34'. At 34' the weight of the water column in your suction line equals the atmospheric pressure pushing down around us at 1 ATM. You can however pump water thousands of feet. SO your first pump can be no more than 30' from your water source. So to draw water from the sea like that you need to put a pumper on the beach. Somehow shift it with the tides so it doesn't wash out to sea or get buried past its axels in shifting sand. And the salt water isn't what kills your machinery. It's the sand if you are doing it from a beach. You will be sucking tons of sand through your pumps and hose. It's just a mess. Ideally you find someplace like a marina with a boat ramp. Or a pier close enough to the water. But the seawater itself is not really the issue. Ships fight fires with seawater. Following the 9/11 attacks all firefighting in lower Manhattan was being done with brackish water from the mouth of the Hudson River, supplied by 2 active duty Fireboats and one retired one that was a tourist museum. (The John J Harvey.)

im shocked at how many people are just like standing next to what looks like a gateway to hell with just a covid mask on. the fire that destroyed my house was micrsocopic compared to these but the intensit of the smell, heat, and literal volume of the crackling felt like it was designed to make the human brain run in fear. these retards are posing for pictures like they are in national geographic.

They keep praising first responders who have a whopping 0% containment, shit I can do that
The only thing most politicians or elected officials can do in this situation is reassure the public and they even fail at that unfortunately. Sadly for all involved, wildfires can't be put out with platitudes.

update from elected officals ongoing right now
Really pissing me off hearing all this bluster about how a District Attorney in fucking California is gonna be the one bring the hammer down on looters in this time of crisis when they don't even arrest people in LA for stealing shit in broad daylight when there isn't a raging inferno. This fire and the incompetence of those involved in fighting it will bring out the devil in people, I know it.

My heart goes out to all of the poor animals and pets that were undoubtedly left behind by their selfish cocksucker owners

If the owners were kind enough to leave a door or window open, animals do generally have a sense to escape fires/natural disasters & get themselves to safety. I've seen angus cattle (for anyone here who lacks knowledge of cows, they tastier they are, the dumber they tend to be) escape brush fires, tornadoes, and even floods unscathed.

For all those who aren't familiar with wildland firefighting, the gov has this (NASA) map tool (live) and there's there's the National Interagency Cord center that logs incident command info here if you need to pull the incident number and Incident Command response type.

Red is active fire in last 24hrs, pink is human habitation.
CalFire's Incidents page is the go to for wildfire tracking in California. I've been using it to keep an eye on whether the Eaton fire is moving closer to Juju's house (no luck). It color codes evacuation zones and links things like press conferences, incident pictures and camera feeds if you're a curious natural disaster autist.

How many times does this have to happen before they learn how to manage their forests? It seems like this shit happens 2-3 times every single year without fail. What are they doing over there?
Seriously, they shipped in plants from Australia in a desert where plants already thrive from regular fires, but regularly try to stomp them out. Then all the litter piles up in yards, streets and highways and woops! Too much fuel to put it out any normal way. And they won't learn either.

We're already strugglin. Won't say which city but mine is dealing with every other big city (including the cunts in missoula) buying bus tickets for all the homeless and crack addicts to come to my beautiful city. Absolute fucking bullshit AND NOW WE HAVE EM FROM CALI AND CHICAGO.
Our chief of police had to make a meeting about people not having gun racks in their cars anymore but basically everyone has a shotgun they don't want to use, but will.
Take the good ole Texas solution to it. Get the cops and sheriffs office beat the homeless with batons until the next county, repeat until you reach the Washington state line (they used to do this to gypsies).

Never have I felt that there was a greater undercurrent of hatred for urban californians that has united the Inter-mountain west (Except CO, RIP) all the way to the right bank of the Missouri river.

So let me get this straight: Dax puts on the Sonichu medallion. His girlfriend then gets pregnant, at an age where autism is likely. A fire springs up near Dax's house as if guided by the hand of God, with no containment and empty fire hydrants. Is God battling the Sonichu demon?
is Dax house still around? Or is his house going to be one of the few places still standing like some cursed spot where nothing grows on it. Its like this story of how after the 1906 San Francisco earthquake, fires erupted across the ruins where only two buildings were still standing. One of them being a mail office because it had its own well for the workers there to put out the fires coming closer to them.

I listened to part of the press conference on a fox stream, if I were a local then I'd be fed posting. The fire chief says 'We currently have zero percent containment....' then a few sentences later, 'Now is a time for gratitude.'

What in the actual fuck is wrong with these people? Their city is on fire, people are dead, they are doing an objectively bad job, and the chief is like, "We should come together and be thankful for all our shit first responders. They are failing to fight this fire but you should still be so thankful to have us."

Also what is the deal with these sign language retards. If you have eyes to see sign language, don't you have eyes to read closed captions? And why do the sign language people make retarded faces. Like they are a clown trying to summon demons. I have trouble focusing with black Israelite Chris chan on the right trying to summon sonichu to fight hate or what the fuck ever.
Sounds like Pajeet mentality where they don't think this life matters, so they can check out and hope when they die they are reincarnated into better circumstances. Hence they don't have any stakes into bettering the current life they are born in, plus fatalism where nothing they do matters, or no matter what they do nothing changes because their poor circumstances is the consequences of their evil actions in their previous life.

That video with the LA fire chief, it sounds like he doesn't live in Los Angeles, hence not having any stakes whether that city burns or not. Its like a CEO getting the golden parachute with millions of dollars or lifetime pension if he retires or gets replaced.

There seems to be a lot of "Wah! These people don't agree with me, so they deserve everything they get!" going on in this thread. I didn't know we had such a high number of troons on here.
Boo hoo won't somebody think of the people who laughed and jeered at the dumb goy inbred sisterficking whiteoids who died in North Carolina and pretty much every disaster that impacts the south and midwest?! 😢

The most frustrating part about the state of CA is the potential for it if built up and run right. (forest and nature management, desalination, dams, strict fire/EQ/wind building regs and policing, with the balls to clean the streets and kick the illegals, sane political class and voters, less freaks of letters etc.) An iconic, beautiful area with great weather..

yep, cal has so much potential it is insane, and it is all being flushed down the drain. then again i can say the same about america in general.

It's due to many Californians (especially the wealthy ones living up in the now fire engulfed hills) doing everything in their power to prevent land management agencies from doing safe controlled burns. Said resident's reasons for opposing controlled burns include: "I like these trees, it'll ruin the view! The smoke will exuberate my asthma. What about the animals?"

TLDR, let's blame the Sierra Club (who for decades were against controlled burns - they've backtracked in recent years) for this mess.

ive read from environmental groups which support controlled burns that one of the issues is the california air quality laws. basically the smoke would drive down the air quality levels so the government forbids a lot of the controlled burns which need to take place.

There are going to be a lot of people getting fat payouts down the road who are going to fuck up housing prices in other parts of the country.

I have a lot of empathy for wildfire victims, but any settlements need to be prorated if they leave the state. DO NOT COME HERE!

it makes me glad that i live in a state which californians ignore.

yep. in ww2 the us aircorps discovered this when bombing japan. they tried using a mix of incendiary and high explosives. the results they found was the HE bombs made the incendiary bombs less effective. the explosion would scatter the flammable materials and the pressure of the explosion would extinguish fires.

what im saying is we should sent up fleets of b-52 and carpet bomb the area with HE bombs.

agreed. teh only people to wish this upon is jeets. if all of india were to burn up in a fire it would be a next positive which i would cheer on. no matter how much i hate california, im not going ot cheer them dying in this fire.
