Live updates: Brush fire burns in Pacific Palisades as Santa Ana winds blast Southern California - Live video at link

Now how you do it without getting your head blown off from the water pressure shooting the fucking thing out of the ground is beyond me.
The top part isn't under pressure as long as you don't open the main valve. If you open it you hear and feel how the water flows up. At least that's how they work in my europoor country.

As an Australian I'll say since it looks almost as bad as some of our bushfires this is a really bad fire. However I don't think the fire chief being a leftie woman is why it got so bad. Loads of people in the thread have explained how its been decades long policy failures that have made the fires worse and worse as time goes on, water reserves empty, giving away fire trucks etc. This is systemic bad governance over decades, not a bad individual. American bros be grateful your really bad fires aren't the size of small and large European countries like ours can be. Fires can always get worse than you can possibly imagine even as terrible as these ones are.
Also cut down all the fucking gum trees you have in that state and the fires will be much more managable, eucalyptus oil is as flammable as jet fuel

Who needs to play Fallout 1 or 2 when you can go to California rn and try and escape a fiery inferno. Sure its not the nuclear wasteland, but you can steal shit and get away with it for a minor offence. Plus IRL ghouls on fentanyl.
The boomer Nokia video of multiple charred skeletons in their cars was straight out of fallout. I thought it wasn’t going to be a big deal, mass property damage and a handful of deaths. It set in after seeing that.

No one should be wishing for the death of other people ITT. Even if you're totally consumed by the culture war and don't have the empathy to humanize your opposition you should look at it from a sociopathic, pragmatic perspective instead of an edgelord one:

this is another incident in a long line of incidents that further radicalizes people against leftist policies, left wing leadership has had disastrous consequences for california and this fire will no doubt wake up a lot more people now that its on their doorstep. they will be exceptionally motivated to combat it and support politicians that promise to get rid of the DEI, woke bullshit because its personally impacted their own safety. they can't do that if they've burned to death. It's much more advantageous for your side if the tally of a person impacted by this goes from left to right instead of from left to dead.
I really hope so, but after the initial recrimination is over rebuilding is going to be on Gavin Newsom and Trump. Both men will have to work together, and both clearly hate each other. It will be very easy for both the people in SoCal and Red America to retreat back into their camps and start flinging shit at each other.

I'm not entirely optimistic if I am being honest. As I posted earlier the ugly truth is there is genuine hatred of Urban Californians, especially among the political coalition of the incoming federal government. Significant Grace will be required. On all sides.

LA is far enough I'm not gonna lose sleep over it. But if it swoops through here...Honestly, I'm not gonna abandon my dog and chickens. If the fire hits, I'm gonna die trying to keep them safe.

There's a fine line between bravery and stupidity. I will put it on record now, I'm fucking stupid. But if I'm gonna die I'll die with my boots on lol.
No way to load em up in a truck and get out for a day or two?
No offense bud, but I don't think a few chicken and eggs are worth losing one's life over.
Good luck either way. Hope it doesnt come near you and yours. May it cut a path through every rich insurance man / hollywood pedophile's second house instead.,

Yes, but actually no. California has already been declining like a MOTHERFUCKER, and I don't need to tell you this, Now LA is absolutely dilapidated, and do you think rich guys will want to invest to rebuild where this was fucked up THIS bad?

Beyond this, if you were on the fence as an elon musk type in LA, and this ruined your business, you now have NOTHING tying you down theres NO reason NOT to leave for texas or some shit. This will drastically effect state income no doubt, and rebuilding, repairs, will cost a lot, and will raise taxes on all Californians some. Basically california has been slowly sinking for a while, and this COULD be the blow that causes a death spiral.

If they're insured and on the fence this is probably a W for the as they can just take that money and go the fuck elsewhere. I think a lot of these people are idiots though.

A new fire was spotted around hollywood.
Also apparently 2 schools have been ENTIRELY destroyed.
So now Cartman wants Fire days instead of Snow days.

@TrainWreckWatcher Eh, about two years ago, State Farm stopped offering Homeowner's insurance in these regions exactly because of the rise in wildfires.

A lot of these people were cutting it close. That guy and his dog in the first video here got out in time.

Ok, I'm all for people making their own choices in disaster scenarios, but what kind of retard just stands there gawping and filming a giant fire that's rapidly approaching?

LA is far enough I'm not gonna lose sleep over it. But if it swoops through here...Honestly, I'm not gonna abandon my dog and chickens. If the fire hits, I'm gonna die trying to keep them safe.

Just wrap the chickens up like they did in Key West when a hurricane came.

I would love to see what Silver Alert's cheat sheet says. Greasy Gav should get outta town, his hair is flammable.
The Governor is the President of a state. Shouldn't he be busy right now instead of looking around sad? If it's an excess of dead plant matter, as some people suggest, this entire preventable disaster his fault.
