- What's this about a fish? Did they disable the fucking fire hydrants? That reeks of Maui all over again.
- They weren't performing basic forestry?
- What's this about a strong black whaman fucking up?
Yeah, these fires are rolling natural 1s while also running a shitty, environmental-based build. The Delta Smelt isn't a direct cause, but indicative of environmental laws making sure that California can't even try to protect itself from drought or wildfires. Then we happened to have a dry winter with Santa Ana winds making it much worse than usual, but this sort of thing was going to happen during the summer if not today.I spoke with a city planner
The fire hydrants didnt run out of water because of a fish.
There is a fixed capacity of water, when you build a bunch of houses up hill you need extra water towers, and pumping stations, these costs money. Money wasnt spent to build to that capacity, system got stressed beyond capacity and failed.
you missed a step.I spoke with a city planner

dumb fish are found --> the dumb fish are rare so declared endangered --> because they're endangered they become super duper important --> company cannot use the water or land because the super duper important dumb fish would die and that's equivalent to 4²⁄₇ 9/11s --> company goes elsewhere or shuts down --> city gets less tax revenue from less businesses --> city doesn't have money left over after ensuring every child gets bottom surgery and a free crack pipe --> city fails to invest in infrastructure --> city's infrastructure gets overloaded with no extra headroom --> the fire hydrants run out of water
but the place is already burnt down, there's not much to "riot"View attachment 6836502
So they're apparently gearing up for some "direct action" (rioting).
To be fair they don't have a choice. One of the richest neighborhoods in the world just burned down because of decades of Democratic stupidity in California -- including outlawing forest management, intentionally leaving the fire hydrants empty, shipping fire trucks to the Ukraine and the DEI mayor to Africa for a photo op. Trump is already shitposting about it. They HAVE to change the subject, and a nice little rent-a-riot is just what the doctor ordered.
When I bought my first mobile phone, I had no credit history and I had to pay a security deposit equal to 12 months of billing fees. Later that day, Parent Pie and I commented half jokingly and half seriously that they probably wouldn't have required as large a security deposit from someone with poor credit. The difference being here is the dumb part imo - you can have zero debt and be doing well and still have a mediocre credit score if you simply don't participate or do arbitrary credit card pay off loops on every little nagging thing before they get any interest as well.
I had a payment to a big credit card company arrive one day late. They didn't care and hit me with with as much fees and interest as they could. It's part of the reason I argue large Corporate America is too impersonal and sees people as little more than dollar signs. This is why I prefer credit unions. You can negotiate with them and they can make exceptions in some cases because they know you. The big banks like BofA, Chase and Citi won't play at all and expect you to die in a bugman pod because you won't do the credit card song and dance like a wagie.
It sucks that the systemCredit scores are not privacy friendly and are stupid. I use mine like Johnny Bravo but I should have the right to opt out of using credit cards, shun the banking system AND not be punished for it.
Can confirm because my bank proudly advertises its premium services for people with six figures in bank assets and it sends mailings out to people who don't even qualify - perhaps to rub it in their face on what they can't/won't have. This is not entirely true. If you have a lot of money with a major bank and a good credit score, they roll out the red carpet for you.
It's hard to trust anything coming from the government when government officials care more about their self image and self preservation than doing the right thing most of the time. Then the FBI backtracked and said it was a terror attack, so I don't really believe them when they say the New Orleans attacker acted alone.
My part of Kiwiland recently signed a law that all eggs must come from cage-free chickens. In response, the grocery store pulled over half its egg supply in advance of the new rule taking place and what eggs were left after that cost considerably more. Someone is benefiting and its not the average shopper. Grocery prices have jumped so much in the past 2-plus years it's not funny. The cheapo eggs at my local stores have basically doubled in price over the last few months. And I don't live in a pricy area.
My father-in-law died exactly three years ago, so he’s on my mind. But he spent a year or two of his Vietnam Army service in Century City getting certified as a Missileman (I found the cert in his files after he died), so the US has a history in Greenland already.Greenland would be useful for scientific and industrial exploration but the people touting this like Trump is going to open it up for homesteading are pretty stupid.
Ben & Jerrys is fucking crazy. If two years from now someone tells me that they started to deliberately put poison in the product they ship to conservative states I wouldn't exactly dismiss those claims as-is.View attachment 6836502

Part of me wonders if it is going to become the next London fire.I'm guessing the fires in CA are too out of control to where an intentional fire won't help snuff out the big fires?
Ana's lost to the Dems for sure now.

I remember a firefighter was on the JRE and he said that everyone knows one day there's going to be a fire that will burn to the ocean and there's nothing anyone will be able to do about it.Part of me wonders if it is going to become the next London fire.
The winds are too fierce for that sort of thing to work. It'd just combine into a bigger fire.I'm guessing the fires in CA are too out of control to where an intentional fire won't help snuff out the big fires?
Heres to hoping this is the one. Scour the den of rot and filth clean.View attachment 6836726
You love to see it.

If I'm doing the math right, at about 60% of the human body consisting of water, an average weight of 150 pounds per illegal, and over 12 million illegals, we'd obtain about 400 acre-feet of water. Not bad at all, California could sure use some.Trump should be telling Johnson to make some LA aid package but it's bundled with NC aid, and it also includes liquifying illegals to provide water to saturate the soil for years.
