Live updates: Brush fire burns in Pacific Palisades as Santa Ana winds blast Southern California - Live video at link

Honestly, the scary part about these fires that some Europoors might not appreciate is just how flammable houses in the US are.
Lots of houses in european countries use brick or stone fairly extensively, at least for the exterior, which should at least mitigate fire spreading between buildings so fast.
No such luck here.

Some of the pictures of the fires aftermath look practically identical to how you'd expect a place to look after a nuke hits nearby. There's nothing left.

The worst part about this being true is that this disaster could have been prevented in many ways. This fire is the result of California's terrible political and environmental policies and nothing else.

How the fuck do you have so many fucking empty fire hydrants? This is fucking criminal negligence.
On the plus side, no fucking way Newsom will become President after this. This is his Stillson moment.

We are very aware that US building codes are a joke and that your houses are primarily drywall and 2by4 struts holding up the entire weight of the roof.

Now here's the million dollar question: were these fires natural occurrences?
50/50 at this point. But the arson theory has some speculating Iran caused the fire and on the other flip side, is the inevitable conspiracy theory from the left that Trump and his side caused the dire both to get revenge/silence Hollywood and to destroy Newsom to eliminate the front runner for the Democrats in 2028.

The status quo is enforced and supported by people. There are plenty of people cheering for Hollywood and everyone associated with it being burnt alive. Burning the idea of California changes nothing when all of those people move to Texas and continue to tell you to mutilate your children and worship niggers. One of the major reasons we're in the mess we are now is because the USSR collapsed without killing the ring leaders. They took their wealth and moved else where to continue to ruin people's lives. If they all burnt alive the world would be a better place.
The idea here is that they will be burned alive in the fire, and failing that wherever they move they will be treated like unwanted trash they are, and hopefully stabbed with a shiv by one of their fellow commiefornian homeless tweakers. Failing that, an illegal breaking into their home and getting away with it.

What a sobering thought. Say what you will about the dystopia we live in now and Israel's wars and whatever, but I feel like 9/11 was something of a rare period of solidarity and patriotism for the United States in the wake of a tragedy. It didn't last, but it helped to shape the character of the country in the 2000s and 2010s, for better or worse. I wonder if this firestorm will end up being so bad that it becomes another culturally and societally transformative moment for America.
This will be a reverse Katrina. Instead of stripping Bush of his +Infinity State boost and protection from criticism buff, it's going to give Trump a nice, respectable stat boost plus put a huge block of his critics in a state where they can't really go after Trump like they want to, since they need to stay on his food side for federal help rebuilding. Not to mention the cataclysmic harm it does to Newsom's Presidential aspirations.

There's a reason for it. Drop an English castle in L.A. and watch it crumble to dust during the first earthquake. Building materials have gotten shittier due to logging practices and green requirements, but wood framed houses will always reign supreme anywhere near fault lines.

No matter how much you Ghouls want it, Los Angeles nor California is going to be leveled to the ground by fire. Sorry to disappoint you. We know that if you were in charge, that there would never be any fires, and if there were any fires, why they'd be out in just a few minutes.
well my first thing in office wouldn't be cutting the budget by 2% to make sure a bunch of shit flinging homeless niggers had 3 meals and a cot.

what's up with the uptick in moralfaggotry on the farms

I’ll be very interested to see the difference between how the two are handled. FEMA is tapped dry (hell, the entire nation is) and it’s not like Trump is going to have any real motive to go out of his way for California anyways. The question will be if they have enough soft power to force the federal government into action.
At the very least, I can see Trump holding relief funding hostage unless Newsom's resigns and California immediately kills the environmental laws that caused the fire to happen, combined with FEMA being forced to retroactively provide 1:1 funds to everyone FEMA fucked over during Helene as compensation for how Biden punished them for the sin of being in red states.

"Let's build our houses to resist fires!"
House collapses in earthquake.
"Let's build our house to resist earthquakes!"
House burns down.

California really is God's least favorite place.

Microsoft definitely knew something
