What people don’t explain is that in California, there is a price cap on insurance increases. So insurance companies can’t just charge a big premium for a higher risk property. So they decided to just pull out of the state instead of taking losses. The government should be blamed for this.
The timing is absolutely brutal. Trump can’t be blamed because he’s not president yet, and now Newsom will have to work with Trump to continue aid after January 20th. Whatever base he has left will feel betrayed and won’t vote for him in a primary, while as a candidate he won’t have a chance when wildfires get brought up (in addition to all the other problems California has).
Newsom was planning to be the anti-Trump. He can’t do that now. He needs Federal aid.

Can't, not everyone is in a rush to buy million dollar homes. It takes a lot of time to buy and sell houses like that. Especially if you tell them insurers won't cover it.
It's their only choice at this point. They don't have any other moves.

Fair point. That's where inflated real estate prices come into play since they can keep people locked in because there are no buyers.
If the Democrats are smart, they'll tap someone like Seth Moulton. Maybe not him specifically, but a white guy with a fairly uncontroversial record and something like a proven combat service record that appeals to conservative voters. The problem is they now have such a rabid politically correct/woke/DEI/whatever the fuck you wanna call this cultish wing that refuses to back down. The Progressives are like the Freedom Caucus, except there are a lot more of them.

I agree to an extent, but it relies on two critical factors that I don't think they have, at all. Factor one, the ability to recognize that they themselves are unlikeable people who cannot win elections, and Factor two, the ability to identify what is likeable and instill that into someone else. Even if they figure out the first factor, they've decisively shown they have no fucking clue how to make something likeable, and genuinely believe they can just social engineer whatever they want into being the liked thing.
Its more likely they double down on trying to force the unlikeable to be popular, rather than actually offering to do what the people want.

The problem is that women rule by social consensus.
The overwhelming majority of women will pretend they think Melvin the nerd sitting in a corner playing on his PSP is a bigger threat than the methed out homeless nigger weilding a machete even though they know that's not true because they know that that's the socially acceptable opinion that gets them social media upcummies and warm fuzzies from other women.
I'm glad Anna embraced reality but don't forget that it took being nearly raped for her to snap out of her lefty delusions, I don't want any of my sisters to need to get to that point to make good decisions.

Yeah this would be a chance for Republicans to actually play by Democrat rules and sponsor a bill with all kinds of pork in it, such as deportations and proper aid for the hurricane victims from last year.
Of course, knowing the GOP they're going to completely waste this opportunity so they can sit on their hands and continue kvetching about how Democrats should "imagine if the roles were reversed."

See I don't buy that at all. You people seem to forget that Democrats for the longest time had a stranglehold on people for being the "logical and sensible party of reason". The Deep State can mask on and mask off very easily. It just takes time. They know they're not popular. Look at how many people they tried to shove into the square hole of being "America First" skin walkers. They can always make more. The bigger problem is the Law of Entropy. All of their old people are aging out. Their reliable Deep State pawns are dead, dying, or retired. The New Deep State is completely retarded. Nancy Pelosi spent the last quarter of her career tard wrangling the Squad. A job that made her notorious alcoholism much worse.
Bottom line is, the new people they've put forward are fucking terrible and incompetent just like every new generation. There's no one they can put in there.

My money is on Fetterman being the selected golem for President.
He will be presented as an Abraham Lincoln over a divided country. Half the reason they probably selected him is because he is tall and goofy looking, like Lincoln. He sports the Lincoln beard, but maybe they'll do something fun and give him some Ambrose Burnside muttonchops.
Right now he's building up blue-collar "street cred", but a run for President will get him into a suit more. I hope it is 19th century throwback, just to see the absurd spectacle of it.
