I think the red signs = stop on both sides unless it's a divided highway is pretty universal in the USA now.

Buses are a specific example of stopping on both sides unless it is divided. Same thing with fire trucks and ambulances with emergency flashers. The former rarely stops on major highways and roadways, though.

The school bus had deployed its stop signs. It is illegal to overtake a school bus in any lane while those signs are deployed. The accident road violence is 100% the biker’s fault.
Is that a law in US? Huh. I didn't know that. It's not the law here but we don't really do school busses. I guess then the biker should have slowed down.

Still doesn't change that the fact that the kid was acting stupid. Everyone has responsibility act safely on roads regardless if you have the right of way. Him just jumping between cars in front of the bike was really a bad idea. He should have looked and made sure had been seen rather than expecting everyone just know he was there. That's what my parents made me do because I'm the one who gets really hurt if something happens.

In New York, you have to stop even if the roadway is divided.

It is the law:
Jurisdictions in the United States (including overseas territories) and Canada have adopted various school bus stop laws that require drivers to stop and wait for a stopped school bus loading or unloading, so as to protect school children boarding or alighting.

Generally, if a stopped school bus is displaying a flashing, alternating red lamp, a driver of a vehicle meeting or overtaking the stopped bus from either direction (front or back) must stop and wait until the bus moves again or the red light is off. Police officers, school crossing guards, and even school bus drivers themselves may have the power to wave traffic on, even when a red light is flashing.

On divided highways, most American and Canadian jurisdictions do not require vehicular drivers to stop when on the opposite side of the road from a stopped school bus. Those that do require vehicles to stop are:
  • West Virginia upon a non-controlled-access highway{§17C-12-7}
  • Arkansas in case a divider has less than 20 feet (6 m) in width (narrow divider).
  • New York State
  • American Samoa
  • Guam
  • British Columbia
  • Nova Scotia
  • Prince Edward Island
  • Northwest Territories
  • Nunavut

Arguably in the USA we shouldn't do busses either, except for rural students (which the low-density avoids much of the problem).

But the US got addicted to bussing "undesirables" around in the 60s and we're not going to e'er recover.

It has to do with low-end students in the schools getting more federal bennies, so a lot of school districts got the bright idea of bussing everyone across town so they can get more benefits. A while back I posted a local district of mine where kids living in a crappy apartment complex had to go to the elementary school nearly six miles away instead of walking to the local less than a mile away.

I wonder if we could undo school bussing and shit by sneaking it in as "walkability" - children must go to the school that is closest to their house (measured within a block, say, tossup if equal distance). This would save infinite amounts of CO2!

The retard has a point but misses the underlying issue.

An elevator out or hobo inhabited once is an inconvenience. But there’s a tipping point where it’s too often, too much. And refusing to admit it’s a problem is itself the problem.
These are the people to complain when the hobo is snaps and harms someone. And the elevator would still be out of service with the city shitting themselves and not doing anything.

Cyclists not obeying traffic laws? Who could have ever imagined.
"I WANNA BE TREATED JUST THE SAME AS A KKKAR DRIVER"
Alright well you'll need a license for that bike, also headlights, tail-lights, turn signals... need to be federally certified as a safe design, plus you'll have to stop for red lights-
"NO NOT LIKE THIS"

Did the pro-bikes crowd make "That kid was a Republican/Right-Wing/Alt-Right/GamerGate/MAGA PSYOP plant to make bikers look bad"? Or did they say "since Trump will be President and he was in WWE, that child faked the injury like how Wrestling's fake"? Or did they even say that "this video is actually AI-generated because bikers would never hurt kids like that"?

He was let off in a clearly Jewish neighborhood, there's an above-average chance that kid is Jewish.

Accusing the cyclist of an anti-semitic hate crime would be ridiculous but hilarious.

You forgot “in the furher’s world wide walkable wonderland there will be no reason for urban assault busses as all children will walk to school.”

The biker should have came to a complete stop. Bikes are legally road going vehicles and forced to follow all rules of the road. So he either ignored traffic control devices, or was driving an unsafe overloaded vehicle. There's zero culpability on the child besides the general lack of awareness a child has.
Still doesn't change that the fact that the kid was acting stupid.
Yet someone how you find more fault with a child than an adult on an unsafe bicycle.
Everyone has responsibility act safely on roads regardless if you have the right of way.
So why aren't you holding the bicyclist appropriately responsible?
Him just jumping between cars in front of the bike was really a bad idea.
Yeah kids make bad ideas all the time, which is why they are transported in special giant banana colored busses with flashing lights to tell you kids are around and to be cautious.
He should have looked and made sure had been seen rather than expecting everyone just know he was there.
Yeah he should know bicyclists are worthless entitled fucks who will run a kid over than safely follow all logic and reason.
That's what my parents made me do because I'm the one who gets really hurt if something happens.
Which is why we hold people who can't safely accommodate living in public responsible for their bad behavior.

The kid gets off the bus, goes to dodge the trash bag and gets hit by a guy on an overloaded bike who either couldn't stop or refused to stop. The guy on the bike should have slowed down to a crawl for multiple reasons, being he had limited visibility because of the parked cars, a bus stopped infront of him, and his bike lane blocked by trash bags. He's a total idiot and I hope he goes to jail forever.

The urbanist paradox of the MTA is perfect but also the MTA isn't for suburban pussies who can't handle a homeless guy living in the station screaming in their face or pushing people onto the tracks.

A certain branch of Urbanists advocate for better public transit, but also seem to have a fetish for how awful their public transit it. They view themselves as certified badasses for dealing with terrible public transit and get enraged if it gets easier.

There is also another branch of socialistic Urbanists who have toxic positivity. Everybody in the entire world must feel anxious and afraid because of a small minority of anti-social lunatic homeless people. These homeless people who have been banned from every homeless shelter in the city are not assholes and insane - no, they are victims of capitalism. The bigotry of low expectations ramped up to 11.

One of the first things my driving instructor drilled into my head. I had no idea bikefags were special enough to the point basic road safety rules don't apply to them.
That reminds me, does anyone have a link to that NYC wigger riding like a lunatic while getting increasingly unhinged when people inevitably get in his way?

They don't need a license to bike so they never learned them.
This is why obeying traffic laws isn't just for cars. Including helmets, no matter how much car-hating retards seethe about wearing them.
