One of the problems with the urban/wildland interface is that a lot of the eucalyptus is on private lands, and the state can't go onto a homeowner's lot and demand that they cut down a specific tree unless it's threatening utilities or some shit. It's also to be noted that a huge amount of land in the area is federal. The state controls something like 3% of the land area in the whole state.
If the political will existed they could make having eucalyptus on your property a crime and they really fucking should

Administrator of the U.S. Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has come to the press conference to say some nice words.

No way, rainbows got us into this mess. No more rainbows for a while, even if they are the symbol of God’s promise not to glass us all at once ever again.
This is unrelated to the fire, just pointing this out because rainbow shit keeps coming up in this thread;

The natural rainbow of God has 7 colors, the LGBT rainbow flag has 6, they are not the same as LGBT defaced the original.

Also, the color the LGBT removed was indigo, a color that many superstitious types associate with freethinkers and intellectuals.

She said it is unprecedented apparently that the federal government will be paying 100% of the firefighting expenses.
It's not unprecedented at all for Presidents to promise 100% FEMA reimbursement for response costs during major disasters. It doesn't happen though and it won't here either. Not 100%.

Biden promised it to my understanding but in the grand scheme of things a fight over disaster aid and relief won't be surprising when Trump eventually gets inaugurated.

It's a really great promise for biden to make because they're going to have to try to cash it with trump. I guarantee it

I dont get the whole climate change causing wildfires BS. Of course climate change isnt causing the fires. Intentional and unintentional arsonist, electrical line sparking and melting powerline fuses, mechanical failures on vehicles, lighting and the occasional self combusting haybale cause wildfires. Roughly in that order of frequency of occurrence. Climate change is not an ignition source. Erratic weather patterns and less rainfall is making fire seasons longer, sometimes, but not always more intense. Wildfires happen all the time. Just you don't hear about them.

But climate change causing wildfires? That is complete bullshit.
Correct but I have seen and met leftists who swallow this sort of rhetoric unironically and yes even now you get retards blaming cars and shit for the wildfire.

If you wonder how some politicians still can get 30% of the vote despite being despised by the population in general this is exactly why. People can and will rationalize everything so that "their team" isn't wrong.
