More often than not, that's likely.
In my watch area it's the local meth heads or drunk Billy Bob burning off trash, letting the fire get into the woods. So guess what political side those locals are often with. They ain't liberals. Its not the climate change wackos starting wild fires around here.

Any other urban rats get an Evacuation Warning around 4:12PM Pacific Time?

I got mine, despite having about 20 miles of dense concrete urban jungle between me and the nearest fire. Turns out, the idiots in charge sent an Evacuation Warning to every man, woman, and child in the entire county (an area larger than the nation of Jamaica), scaring people and making a mess of things.

So naturally, I went to the website linked to the warning only to find the website down. When it came back up again after 15 minutes, it wouldn't show me where the fires were because it thought that I lived somewhere in the middle of the Pacific Ocean (yes, I gave it the necessary permissions to detect my true location). There are old angelfire sites from the 1990s that still function better.

This is third world stuff. And you know what? Wait until those folks burned out of their beachfront homes try to apply for permits to rebuild. The Coastal Commission is gonna tell them to get stuffed. I've long argued that California, once a proudly red state, would eventually turn red again. People laugh at me for this, but the 2024 elections showed half the state turning red, and nothing makes a man feel red more than having a bunch of lesbians on the Coastal Commission tell him that he is SOL in rebuilding his beachfront home. This fire may be just enough to at least turn the city red again. What's left of the city, I mean.

With so many celebrities losing their home to wildland fire, maybe this is will increase wildland fire awareness and safety among the American public!

Just kidding, Im being :optimistic: . Nothing will change.

Clock me if missed it here, but someone on fox11 was complaining that they evacuated, left the door unlocked for firefighters, then returned when it was safe to find they'd been looted.

Well God Emperor Trump does seem to be determined to unite the entire English Speaking World (plus those rather annoying French Qebecois) under his Orange Banner. And most Aussies seem to be halfway to Oompa Loompa shades of Orange anyway. He might buy it? Granted he might restore it to its traditional role as an continent of convicts and really really annoying people.

On the other side some examples of "looting" the news talks about is incredibly autistic. Whats that, you picked up a frozen puddle of melted aluminum from a car fire? LOOTER!!!! *BLAM BLAM BLAM*.

That been the speculation of the day in my neck of the woods as well. Coastal Commission is going to be salivating over that newly vacated coastline.
