A bit of a powerlevel but I use Discord (no shocker) and I got a plugin that allows me to see locked channels. Guess what the Freakleak Discord had all this time?

Yeahhhhh....they were already sharing builds of Legends ZA with the admins and mods for a while now.

So know how one can use healing moves outside of battle in other RPGs, and even in the PMD series?

Why is it one can't one use something like Recover outside of battle in the core pocketmons vidya?

A lot of that originates with field moves in gen 1 being jank as fuck, even working with limited memory/screen space.

But on the other hand: who cares? It’s Pokémon, healing items are super cheap to begin with, and only get cheaper once you get to the first vending machine. Unless you’re doing some sort of self-imposed challenge, in which case you’re probably not making an exception for Softboiled.

Why did they put so much hype into hidden power as a field move but never use it? Cannot recall a single use case for it.

If one wants to restore HP and doesn't want to use or doesn't have healing items for some reason, one has to get into a battle to use the heal move if it can't be used outside of battle. Meanwhile in in FFVI, one just has to select Curaga from menu to use it anytime.

Right, but Curaga still consumes a resource whereas field moves in Pokémon do not, which would already trivialize an already easy JRPG. And you would have to completely rebalance recovery moves if you want them to consume PP in the field.

So, softboil and milk drink operated on the same rules (health transfer, useable outside of battle), prior to gen 7. So, I guess the healing moves rule only applies when it's something innate to the Pokemon (milk and eggs), and not a power within (psychic healing with recover). That's kinda neat.

Hidden power is used in competitive (and in speed running communities). It's not an all powerful tool, but it has its uses.
That's not what I meant. I meant as a tool for exploring the game world without speedrunning along the lines of flash or dig.

God, that mechanic sucked. And they forced it down your throat in ORAS, too.
To be fair, I appreciated the secret bases more in ORAS than in regular RSE for the simple fact that Serebii(dot)net had a couple of them where they were filled with nothing but Blissey battles that could give you insane amounts of XP. At least with the internet it allowed you to use the "play/trade together" features that these games were originally intended for. Couldn't really do that in RSE if you were a loner.

Last /ppg/ was made on December 20th, it died with 322 posts and the last one was made on 31st of December
So far there hasn't been a new general this year, nor have there been any drops in months. The rentry page is also dead, the only one still up is the torrent page

I think we can safely say the leaks are over. I will finish downloading the last few files I have missing and go over the archived generals to see if I missed anything, but I think that's about it unless some humanitarian is going to leak AZ or Gen 10 that the original leaker was too bitchmade to do. Other than that, well I guess we have to go over the mountain of information and data that we were given, that includes translation efforts.

Trigger's PC lets you create custom made Secret Bases from scratch if you have other RSE saves, since it imports that trainer and their team + their secret base into your game. I used the program to basically give myself EV training "gyms", altho the levels are uneven so this isn't as fun as I was hoping for. One trainer has Pokemon up to lv50, others have 30-50 levels then there is a lv70-100 legendary out of nowhere due to me picking max EV Pokemon to maximize training. I've got Pokerus too so I am absolutely set, if I have time I will check if I can make the levels more equal with what Pokemon I have. I don't want to gen or change levels of any Pokemon, otherwise I would have just done that.

I'm going to be honest: given the leaker's general behavior, I expect him to show up again after Z-A releases and shit out some behind-the-scenes stuff. After that, though, yeah it's probably over for real. He likes attention, but I don't think he'll be around long enough to share Gen 10 stuff (nor do I think he'd have the attention span to remember to do so when the time comes).

What I'm more interested in is a year or two from now, when people have presumably combed through a lot of the leak's materials and sorted out the interesting stuff from the fluff. We'll probably hear of minor developments relating to the leaks for months if not years given its enormous size (and the autism of the fanbase). I'm looking forward to it. Especially those inter-office work emails.
