16 confirmed dead (5 killed in the Palisade fire, 11 killed in the Eaton fire)
13 missing
36,000 acres burnt
11 percent of the Palisades fire is contained
15 percent of the Eaton fire is contained
80 percent of the Kenneth fire is contained
76 percent of the Hurst fire is contained
All of the Lidia fire has been contained

LAFD hasnt updated their map the entire day. They dont seem to be making any progress with those big fires and at this point they are probably just going to burn themselves out.
Maybe God has a sense of humor and sends a tsunami to douse the fires.

Poor Dude. On this I wouldn't judge her too harshly because she mentioned he was burrowed underground, probably hibernating given it's winter. To rescue him they would have needed to figure out exactly where he was underground and dig him up, then haul away the angry tortoise -- and how much do you think he weighed?
