Pat has to prove 2 things in his case: that the police responded KNOWING the calls were fake, and that they refused to de-escalate things.
The second one is so laughable that it's impressive that retards still fall for this idea that the police are coming in with guns blazing every time, and if that were the case, he might be onto something. However, the fact there were over 50 calls, he's only suing over their responses to 7 of them, and, IN HIS OWN WORDS, half of the 7 that were apparently so severe he's suing over them only involve the police knocking at his door? Oh no, officer Evans got annoyed that you wouldn't take the 2 seconds required to clear this up so they could go, boo hoo.
As for the first, Patty can definitely show the officers should have had an idea that the calls were LIKELY false, but how is he going to prove that the officers KNEW they were false unless there's some smoking gun hidden deep within discovery? A likely false call regarding an unstable and aggressive individual with a conviction on the record of threatening to murder his previous spouse warrants at least some response, even if it's likely false. I just can't see anyone reasonable looking at "Once we knew there was a likelihood these calls were fake, we just knocked on the door or left a note asking them to call us, we had a duty to at least follow up, given his history, and at every turn he made things way more difficult than they had to be." and saying "Yeah, let's give him a million!"
