did you look like a pooner in 2011?
I'm a true and honest gorl--not poon, not troon, and way out of his league. I thought Nicole was out of his league, too, but she somehow tolerated him for too many years. Dodging coomers was standard protocol at Blizzard for any woman above a 2/10, so I'm not reaching or trying to brag.

Speaking of pooners— Mald's ex girlfriend from 2009 happens to be FTM trans now, too. Not super relevant, but I thought it was interesting that he's dated two of them that we know of. I don't even want to know how many troons he's been involved with at those furry sex parties.

Found her account via this livejournal entry from a furry he was friends with IRL when I was trying to find any remnants of his LJ account.

Not sure if the ex gf trooned out after they broke up or what, but of course she's another Second Life furry. Sorry if nobody else finds this funny, lol.

On the LSF reddit, any clips taken directly from Pirate's streams have been truncated to 5-6 second clips and the vods are now missing. However, LSF's archives for the clips stickied in the comment sections are the full clips.

For Rando's & Lurkers alike, if you ever ask another person "whats the point of archiving". This is the exact reason. Pirate for the FIRST fucking time is actually doing the right thing in terms of damage control. I don't agree with doing it, but he should've done this 3 days ago.

I'd also secondly mention that while some people value "Communication majors" and "Disaster reps" as worthless paycheques, I'd argue that Pirate has made a great case on why you talk to people and if you're a full sperg DONT address the public with garbage statements & dont go and stream after drama for 12 hours.
https://streamrecorder.io/ appears to have recordings starting at 01/14/2025 02:06:46 AM. I don’t plan to invest in the “premium” bullshit and I haven’t explored the site too much, but you can still find other user’s recordings of top streamers here. It’s just gay you need to make an account photo-output.jpegphoto-output.jpeg

Tolerated him? Ha. Were talking a multi black badge holder DEF CON hacker and the prodigal son of Joeyray. Do you know what that means in the vidya game world?

Slowly but surely piecing together the history of this dickhead brings me an emotion akin to joy I think. I guess you got your answer about Nicole staying with Mald, considering she was also a degenerate mentally ill furry too.
Now, did he have like any friends at work? Or was he quietly loathed by all, just like we're seeing today?
Is history repeating itself?

@boing boing did you happen to take any pictures of the condition of the apartment when he lived there?
Absolutely, but nothing readily accessible. I'd have to resurrect my old phones to try to retrieve them or hope they were saved to SIM since they weren't exactly something I wanted or needed to back up anywhere. I took them for the landlord to show why I was kicking him out so soon, and to show others on my team who had to work with him. They stayed on my phone and weren't sent in emails or messages. He wasn't exactly someone that anyone cared about back then for archival, and he was out of mind as soon as he moved off my team at Blizzard.

Edit: Going to pause responses so I can multi-quote later. I swear I won't wait a month this time.

He has all the preconditions to troon out:
  • Looks like a troon (moobs, pody posture, twiggle arms)
  • Surrounded by troons
  • Furry
  • Hugbox discord community
  • Attention seeker and narcissistic
  • Loves to lie and deceive
I can't wait for the tweet announcing xis new name and identity

I begrudgingly appreciate that even the plebbitors on LSF can recognize Jason is a total poser in almost all respects. It always bothered me how Jason achieved virality through absolute midwit bait with his i-am-so-smart credentialism (his credentials aren't even that good).

My personal cope is that all his fans are wannabe skiddies. There's actual (often cringy) infosec streamers who do like HackTheBox but they don't achieve nearly the same popularity. Pseudo-tech streamers like Jason are not in the same playing field as the genuine tech streamers. There are people on twitch coding game engines in C and they get like 40 viewers. No one wants to watch that shit. It's boring and silent because it genuinely requires intense concentration.
It took me a while to understand what it was specifically about his content that I found so irritating, especially since I was being drip fed his videos in Youtube shorts and it didn't amount to much more than just a vibe I got.

looking back on it it's pretty obvious. I don't care about gaming content, but when he talks about technical subjects, it's always like this: very confident and authoritative and at the same time very vague and superficial. What's bad about programming languages? Are human languages bad too? Is that why there are so many? Is math bad and that's why it's broken up into several different fields? Seriously what is he talking about?

I suppose he's trying to allude to the common criticism of, in particular, lower-level programming languages like C for not being intuitive enough, but he's not exploring that argument at all, he's essentially just massaging the egos of his fans by saying nobody knows anything, progress is accidental, some big bang theory type nerdisms about wizards and spells, and there you go. This clip isn't cherrypicked either, almost all his programming content is similarly vague, or, on the rare occasion that he does go into some concept, it's on a very basic level, like explaining some technique one game or another uses to do such and such.

It's an enormous pet peeve of mine, the rise of this style of "Bill Nye for adults" content aimed at reddit-type individuals who need the smart-guy-in-the-room ego and the appearance of being all about science but without actually doing the work. Like you said, there are people out there making really fantastic tutorials on the exact things he constantly makes references to, but they only get a few dozen views because education and entertainment are two distinct things, and while they focus on education to the near total exclusion of entertainment, he's doing the complete opposite.

Here kid, have an opinion about a subject you don't understand that conveniently lets you look down on people for doing work that you're not capable of 👍not gonna tell you how to actually get started learning the thing you just asked about though, so don't bother.

So even if he bails on WoW and returns to AoC there's a whole group of people there waiting to hound him. :story:
This is exactly why he stopped playing EVE. He burnt bridges with every single corp in EVE, tried to be the king of Porchven and then the developers did more acccesibility than he suggested (because it benefitted him thats why he suggested it.) he ended up getting steamrolled by the entirely of every single EVE alliance to exist, just because he was a cunt.
Since the devs overdid the accesibility improvements, he opened himself to attack and after the steamroll begun. Mald had no better idea that destroy every since citadel station, asset and money in his control. After that he's hated by the EVE community.

So expect the same as AoC grows... And Star Citizen? Oh boy he not gonna last much there. He's getting out of roads

Maldtree got put on my radar because I saw a clip of him discussing Star Citizen (ironic considering the failure of his game). People can criticize Chris Roberts' actions and the snail pace development of the game, but all of the points he made about the game were him virtue signaling that games going after whales is unethical and exploitative. Maldtree says Star Citizen is anti gaming and then pulls the "as a game developer" line (debatable, funny how he always talks about being a game developer for an unfinished game like that means anything). Throughout the entire clip talking about Star Citizen Maldtree paints people disagreeing with him "arguing with feelings" which is retarded considering the argument he is trying to push goes out the window once you apply the same arguments to other games. I can analyze the video more but I don't want to bog up this thread with my autism about his take on Star Citizen.

I guess one thing is for certain and that is Star Citizen in the state it's in right now, is a much more complete and engaging game than ShartBound will ever be.

The clip in question is here, doubt he will take this down because his take had midwits praising him as a paragon of virtue in the gaming industry.
Here's the irony about it. He shits about Star Citizen having macrotransactions then goes to suck China's ass when he plays Zenless Zone Zero, shits on Eve because its P2W slop but then praises warframe?? The last 2 games use the exact back to back currency system, trading and you can buy anything with premium currency. In fact its needed to progress as mandatory.

For newfags that want to know just how bad this guy is at programming with context of these clips alone: -

TL;DR - Everything he does sucks. Its not industry practice, its not efficient, it makes development slow and there's an objectively better way of doing what he wants to achieve, objectively using less human time and computer processing time.

Claim - "Everything is a giant array in a global [object?] cause its 20% faster"

- This codemongoloid is using Gamemaker and not even using his own engine or even another engine which allows you to optimize better like by custom scripting the rendering pipeline (which is also not needed for a small game like his). While there is nothing wrong with making a game using this engine, talk of optimization, especially on such an inconsequential, low memory and low CPU consumption task is just stupid.

- 20% faster over what other methods? What are the numbers? How many milliseconds of a difference are we talking about? Clearly this nigger doesn't even know how to log the performance and run A/B tests.

- He can easily preload (copy assets from the hard drive to the RAM stick) data per scene/level to not have to have the apparent performance impact, even heavier 3D games today have only a few seconds of loading screens where it preloads assets which are much heavier (in GBs). A simple fade to black transition will preload all the assets without even a hitch. Preloading chunks of data rather than a bulk of data may even be faster as the game grows in complexity.

Claim - "I want you to hack the videogame" (and change shit how you'd like - basically mod it)

- Codemongoloid doesn't know what a mini SDK is. Steam allows you to bundle the SDK with the game on purchase. You can see this if you toggle the "Tools" option in your Steam library games list. Chances are there are a few tools you have that you never knew about if you're not a modder. He doesn't know how to make an SDK for his game, which likely doesn't even need it.

- For games that don't come with an official SDK, modders first (usually) have to make a modkit. A modkit is an unofficial SDK which allows other modders to alter the game. For a simple game such as his, making a modkit is a cakewalk and no sane gamedev would even care to make an SDK for it, instead opting to enable support for Steam Workshop or mod.io integration.

- His array values are simple numbers, a basic GUI window tool, like a guidebook, can just list all the things and allow you to change values with a slider or toggle boxes without even needing a modkit with simple workshop support. An applicable example of modding this would be exploiting the menu UI to have an option like the settings option, which says "cheats" or something like that and when you click it, it shows you all the values to toggle. If you know of cheat menus in games or debug menus, you might be familiar with this already.

This is "old" by now, but it's impressive how accurate it is:

Also, I've never touched FEZ, but wouldn't a "2D platformer that takes place in a 3D world" make it just a 3D platformer with limited movement? By the looks of things, there's nothing about it that's "impossble at the time", just that the concept was new (and then I'm fairly sure the faggot that made FEZ stole it from someone else).

BTW: does the engine he's using default to using 32 or 64-bit?

Yeah he really just shifts opinions depending on what he is criticizing just so he can farm wholesome reddit points. He seemed so jaded when talking about anything he doesn't agree with, which is fine, but don't state your thoughts on the matter as objective.

Funny how the main gripe he had with Star Citizen when he was talking about it were the packs for ships you get when you purchase them, exact same strategy AAA games now use with "Ultimate edition of (insert slop here)" but at least with Star Citizen, a normal person can earn any ship bought for with real money for free. To be generous, I think it's dumb allowing customers to purchase those packs when the game isn't close to finished, but every customer goes in knowing that so it's a moot point.

I pray Chris Roberts' can release a near complete Star Citizen in the close future (like that'll ever happen) just so Maldtree can either back-peddle on his thoughts about the game so he can play it on stream, or double down on it and bash the game knowing deep down that everything he said about game development or did with his failure of a game is was retarded.

Confirmation that Jason and his mods are the ones doing this.
