I wish people would learn that organizations, much like countries, are not sacred clay - they're made up of people, and once the talented, hardworking and creative employees are gone, the quality of the product drops significantly. It's why shit like "From the creators of New Vegas" means fuckall when the actual people making the game are dangerhairs, and the has-been homosexual tasked with tradwrangling them.
When Naughty Dog presented their terrible new upcoming game with the androgynous bald chick, their marketing was disgusting -
"THE STUDIO THAT BROUGHT YOU CRASH BANDICOOT! JAK & DAXTER!"
It's like fuck you, all those people are gone, and you hacks couldn't even come close to holding a candle to those people and what they created, yet for some reason, it works. Granted that trailer was massively ratioed, but it apparently works on a large number of people.
A lot of these channels exist to solely complain about woke content in their mainstream capeshit, comics, fantasy or sci-fi franchises. Yet they don't really offer much insight other than what's already been said. Nerdrotic's condensed videos are better than Friday Night Tights or his other live videos. They don't even offer recommendations for their audience, which would be way more helpful. "Sick of what Star Wars has turned into? Check out an Italian rip-off from the 70s that's cheesy and entertaining!" His deliberate ball busting and edgy jokes amongst friends alienate people that didn't grow up in that sort of environment.
As for the Drinker praising GOW Ragnarok, it could be brand bias. Fans will defend or overlook any obvious flaws or narratives being pushed if they like the end product. Just how people praised Mad Max: Fury Road and Furiosa... despite the plot holes and Fury Road making Max a secondary character.
You know what I wish these channels did? Do what the likes of Crowbcat do - make one mega video on the topic, then it's done. You can refer to that video anytime to get the gist of what you need to know because it's well done. He made one mega video telling the whole story of the Cyberpunk 2077 disaster without even saying anything, same with how 343i ruined Halo, everything you need to know about Todd Howard, etc. All it took was one well made video to get the point across. Now imagine if he made a new one with much less effort every week. There's a reason why he so rarely releases a video, but when he does, it's like an event for his subscribers.
There's clearly a market for this, but at some point I just had to jump off, like enough is enough. But I do agree that his solo streams where he just talks are way better than the ones where he has a bunch of people on. The stories of when he ran the store, his prison stories, recovery stories, etc, I enjoyed those a lot.
The drinker is a shill, as long he can see it earn him some money, he will butt kiss the product. I followed that guy for years and i learned it the hard way. So the drinker can go fuck himself!
It's one thing for him to like the game, I couldn't care less. It's another thing for him to review other games/films badly because of DEI/"The Message" while giving certain other ones a pass for having the same things.
