Not true. You'll be forced to get a secure card, which is a glorified debit card where you have to put down $200-500 down plus fees to cover the card's available credit line and what you pay every month basically restocks your balance. Which is what credit card companies due to people with shitty credit scores who can't qualify for a credit card.

They're pretty good for establishing and repairing credit (it's often said that having no credit is worse than bad credit since bad credit is at least some kind of indicator of your ability to pay where no credit is kind of dealing with a rogue element). More often than not they wind up being 'upgraded' into a normal credit card with a normal credit line after a short while (read: encourage you to get yourself into shit so you can start paying them interest).

Unless Trump fucks up bad, I don't think dems have a shot in 2026 due to retirements and other issues. 2028 is too far to worry about.
