Mass Effect has been tainted by Andromeda
By ME2, 3 and Andromeda.
Inquisition was also released in 2014, an absolutely awful year for videogames. It won GOTY that year for some perspective on how few good games came out that year, so I'm sure lack of any competition helped it.

Don't get me wrong, my Steam replay shows only one new release played last year but 2024 absolutely had better games released than Veilguard.
Cisquisition winning the GOTY award was sus since the game was released a month earlier.

The scene where Tash comes out as nonbinary to their mom has to be one of the most painful moments in all of gaming, if you could use cringe as an energy source then that scene alone could power up all of earth for the next 200 years, it's that fucking cringe.
Devils advocate:

It's so cringe because it's written extremely well if the goal was to highlight just how fucking cringe rash and people like her are.

More grist for my "weekes was trolling just like his oc insert Solas" conspiracy theory

If u note he's been pretty silent so far. Makes u think

i despised Sera in Inquisition, easily the worst character bioware had ever made yet somehow they made a game where every single character including returning characters are somehow worse then her...
To be fair she was at least useful in combat compared to this abomination.

Like when you're actually missing the fucking Hinterlands and Kirkwall you know you are screwed. The faces in the game although well animated are terrible...did the designer go to Pixar or some shit to get this done?

Also I want to know how they got to Davrin and Harding as the characters you have to have lead the seige to their death. Like out of all the cast......them? Like even when one has an adorable pet too that just happens to fly into the void with said dead character.....and the other a fan favorite who.....totally wouldn't do it if she had been written better than just "Hey remember Inquisition"
And then everyone back at base is like "OH THEY WERE MY BEST FRIEND" oh fuck off.

The one thing I was fine with was Varric dying. I like him but he's in too much and the writers were trying for years to kill him off. Also Morrigan is better sorry.

Handwaving Kate Mulgrew's entire character was odd as well. OH IT WAS JUST A FRAGMENT THAT'S WHY SHE DIED HAR HAR. Also is it just me or was Solas inconsistent throughout?

Between this game and Dustborn (And a bunch of others games), we've hit a strange fever pitch when it comes to writing in entertainment. Are these things genuine? Or are they satire?

Can't even fuckin tell anymore.

Imagine how the telemetries of the entire trilogy showed the affinity of picking mages and human warriors/rogues in Origins made Bioware rushing DA2 with only human race.
Telemetry data in DA2 showed again the affinity of playing mages.
In Inquisition, the most romanced character was Cassandra (only for chads males) and the least was Dorian (lol, i wonder why).
And in classes, again; humans.

And nothing in this was even considered in Woketard. L M A O.

Casual gamers and dedicated fanbases are two separate groups.

DAV is written for the tumblr tranny crowd and gays on twitter. Who did actually romance Dorian.

(Or the straight women that played a male elven inky to do so).

I like how right at the very end of 60+ hours of the worst cringe imaginable you don't get a Solas boss battle which might actually be cool.

Instead Rook defeats Solas with the mcguffin in a cutscene.

It's like the developers wanted to kick you in the dick one last time before the credits roll.
I mean? Not to defend the game, but I don’t think a Solas boss battle is appropriate for the character?

You either trick Solas. Get him to stand down, or otherwise beat him via sacrificing yourself. (Or you get the requisite points to win-I think?)

The endings where Solas either is tricked and says “I’m a fool” or he gives in to his pride and says he’s a god, work best.

In principle-the ending being Solas forced to sustain the veil(willingly or unwillingly on his end) does fit the character. As a Loki/Prometheus/Trickster/savior deity archetype.

Given that no boss battle is appropriate.

The troon game director is apparently "quitting" and smashJT is passing on rumors that it only sold a little over a million copies despite a 10 million goal and Bioware Edmonton will be announced to close in February. Per Wikipedia Bioware Edmonton is Bioware's headquarters so I'm not sure how that shakes out.
lol, he gets a golden parachute and everyone else gets to hold the bag. Real classy.
